This about divorce/remarriage

My wife (she previously divorced her first husband for adultery) left me around 6 months ago saying she never loved me and it was time to start living for herself (there was no fornication or adultery on either part). I told her all the scriptures and everything and she said God is forgiving and understanding and that she hasn't lost her faith. When I first met her she was a christian youth sponser but stopped living a christian lifestyle and started drinking.

I eventually signed the divorce papers and tried to reconcile with her but she sent me a text message saying there would be absolutely no reconciliation and that the divorce was final and if i was having trouble with the scriptures then i should seek a counselor.

I started dating a girl who was divorced with two kids because her husband cheated on her.

After that I started reading more scripture and was reading Jesus' words on remarriage. It seems cruel to me that I'd be an adulterer and she would be an adulteress for getting remarried. Is it not better to get married than to commit fornication? I thought Jesus was loving and forgiving but a lot of people tell me that we can't get married because we've been married. I just don't see why it would be better for me to wish my ex wife to die so i could be free to remarry.

Just a suggestion?

Maybe, 1)forgive your ex wife and pray for her salvation and well being so that 2) your relationship with God is on the mend so that 3) you can enjoy singleness and building that relationship with Christ, living as He did so that 4) you won’t make the same mistakes in a mate like you did the first time.

Six months is not enough time to mend from a divorce nor enough time to really see where God is directing you. (In MHO) You never know, maybe with prayer for your ex wife He might draw her to Him and change her enough to come back.

Depending on the amount of time between divorce and remarriage, you could possibly have been on the ‘rebound’ for her, never know. I also believe that we all have areas where change is a must to make us who God wants us to be rather than our own desires and wants which develops with only a relationship with Him to guide and lead according to His will rather than our own.

With a relationship with Him first, He can mold us into the kind of husband/wife HE wants for our spouse.

You obviously haven't prayed about those scriptures or looked at them carefully. The bible says that sexual sin is the only clause for divorce and re-marriage. The girl you are dating is free in otherwords to do what she wants because of her husbands adultery. Your wife has already left, and the moment she sleeps with someone the covenant she made with you is broken before God too, according to that clause.

Sounds like you're both in the clear from what you've already mentioned.

Pray about it. Since when has God been man. Read his word and see what he has to say to you about it.

Jesus IS loving and forgiving...He is ALL that and more. I have trouble with people, when in a crisis of one sort or another, point an accusing finger to God either by words or action.

It bears repeating that Jesus IS loving and forgiving and has no blame in any situation we may be going through.
