"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."
— Matthew 7:21

Did you know it is possible to pray, be baptized, keep the Ten Commandments, go to church, and not necessarily be a Christian? A Christian should do those things, but doing them in and of themselves does not mean you are a Christian.

Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven" (Matthew 7:21).

There are posers in the church. They sit next to us. They sing the same songs. They pray the same prayers. They know the Christian lingo. They come off like they are Christians, but they really are not.

Whenever something good comes along, you can be certain there will be imitations. And the devil is an imitator. Jesus told a story known as the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares about a farmer who planted a crop of wheat. During the night, his enemy came along and planted tares, or weeds, among the wheat. But it was not until the plants broke ground that it became apparent there were weeds among the wheat. Worse yet, the weeds actually uprooted the wheat.

Jesus said that is how it will be leading up to the time of His return. There will be the genuine next to the imitation. There will be the real next to the fake. A fake Christian is not a struggling Christian, because every Christian struggles. Every Christian has times when they fall short. A fake Christian is a poser, a pretender. It is someone who is putting on a performance. They conduct themselves one way sitting in church, but another way altogether in their day-to-day living.

If you are a real Christian, it will be demonstrated in the way that you live.

We have posers everywhere. We have all kinds of Christians. We have Christians who claim that the Lord is Lord over all their lives, but can't be bothered giving a dollar to preach the gospel. Can't be bothered with seeing what God's kingdom needs on payday. We have Christians who want to be healed of sickness and disease and rather than give the Lord the same respect as doctors of the world, they shun the Lord's Supper and despise it as being a piece of bread and a cup of juice rather than how they can receive healing on their level of faith. We have a lot of talkers in the Body of Christ. We have a lot of Christians who want God to trust them with the true riches, despite them not being faithful in the little that they have. I used to be one of those Christians until I repented. There are a lot of things that millions of Christians aren't doing that would probably make it deserving for them to be labeled as posers. Many of those in this category are Christians that don't realize they are the biggest posers of all. But I'll let the Lord sort all that out. As for me, I'll receive everything Jesus died to give me in his perfect work at the Cross. It doesn't surprised me that Jesus wondered if there would be any faith on the earth when He returned. The Lord tells us to do so many things in the Word under grace and to trust in them, yet millions of Christians don't put any faith behind these requests and then they wonder why they are never overcoming obstacles and then fight for the right to declare defeat in their lives by telling people that God wanted them losing their battle. Its sad really.

Notice, to get to Heaven, you have to DO the will of God. It's not the good works that gets you into Heaven, but if your master is the righteous Lord, you will seek righteous behavior. If your master is sin, then the only good works that will come from you will be done for pragmatic reasons (you don't want to go to jail, you want people to like you, etc.).

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross. This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. Colossians 1:19-22

Yes, and if you're reconciled to God, it will be reflected in your good works. Otherwise, you can say "Lord Lord" until Jesus comes back and he'll say He doesn't know you.
