Jesus said, "The world would love its own."
That is why God's Eternally Sworn Enemy keeps doing bad things.
And God taught us through the story of Cain and Abel, that Cain killed slew Abel because of the evil in his heart, not because of skin color, not because of sex, etc, and all the other false reason the evil world lies and tells you so that they won't have to call sin, sin, and therefore proof themselves to be eternal liars who have eternally rejected their Loving Savior Jesus.
God tells all, by the True Apostle John, in 1John3:12,
"Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous."
But the manufacture of beer, wine, and liquor, while bad, is not at the top of God's list to destroy.
God uses the things of this evil world to teach us about God's Invisible Spiritual Truths that God will truly show us and bless us with if we are Willing to do every thing God's Way.
Jesus used wine to illustrate that Jesus is truly The New Wine Himself that God is truly eager give to all...so as TO MAKE them TRULY HAPPY AND TRULY JOYOUS forever, but ONLY BY ABIDING IN CHRIST (John15), which is the true reason that people drink to start with, to give all who simply trust in Jesus and Jesus alone like a little child for every thing every moment and forever
As a matter of fact, the first miracle that Jesus did, was to change water into wine, at the marriage feast. And John The Baptist, the first and only True Baptist approved by God and Jesus, didn't preach any sermon against it...lol.
The sin that God doesn't like is evil self-seeking and evil self greed...whether that inner iniquity results in over drinking, or over smoking, or over eating, or over spending, or over thinking.
Now, The Lord knows that I am truly NOT judging this preacher's or anyone's eternal soul, for that is God's Business alone.
But God said that while we cannot judge another's soul,
that we are allowed to judge his actions.
I heard this one baptist preacher, and I observed the preachers ACTION OF LYING on the pulpit, that the wine that was used in Jesus' day was NOT real wine, but like grape juice...lol
Well, if that was true, and there was no real wine in Jesus' day,
then how did people GET DRUNK AS A SKUNK...and why did The Scripture preaches Be Not Drunk With Wine...if it was truly impossible to become drunk with the wine of that day...if it indeed contained no alchohol, and therefore was like grape juice?
Hmmmm...something does not add up
And we all know that LYING is wrong, but that preacher lied that day...May God have Mercy on me and all according to God's Truly Merciful Will.
There but for The Grace of God go we all.
Even Jesus said, in Matthew7:15-23,
"15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither
can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

And God taught Jeremiah the lesson of the good figs and the bad figs
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. (Jeremiah29:17)
Side note: I'm guessing that you attend a baptist denomination, cause you are so anti alchohol sin focused...but dont seem to be much worried about covetousness, love of money, spiritual adultery, which btw is worse in God's Eyes than physical adultery, uncleanness, and the other sins too much.
And any way...God does not want us to concentrate on our sin, but rather to concentrate on God's Love for us and The True and Only
Solution for that sin, which is, TRUE AND WHOLEHEARTED AND ETERNAL faith and abandonment of all of ourselves and every thing that worries us into the Truly Merciful Arms of God Our Father and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alone forever (1Peter5:7) :0
