My name is Nick, I'm 17 years old and live with my family in a small and very religious town. EVERYONE in this town is Baptist except for me.

I am pagen, more specific I am an Odinist. My parents have made small suggestions to me about converting but, nothing ever really seems to work out. For example I'm pretty much banned from their church and nobody in this town will talk to me.

Anyways, I'm trying to make the effort myself and actually try this time. I bought a bible, I've started to read it and I have A LOT of questions that need to be answered. I've joined this sight as well as another to get help because I literally know nothing about Christianity.

Um..that's it : /

Hello Nick.

I'm glad you were led here by GOD! Ask questions freely, sincerely and you will get responses back.

Check out the "get saved now" forum and my favorite, "Evidence & Prophecy" forum category as well.

God looks at the heart. Your heart is the same as Jerusalem. Jerusalem is where the throne of David of the line of Jesse the same as Jesus Christ. You say you are pagan and your belief mechanism is in line with pagan thinking, therefore Jesus Christ is not on the throne of your heart. The Bible from the time of Adam to now and even into the future regards man as sinful. Men blaspheme the name of Christ, they hate each other, they covent each others goods and wives, they commit adultery, etc. All these are contrary to the Law of God - the Ten Commandments. When we believe in anything else other than what God has revealed to us in His Word we violate that Law. Can we find righeousness through observing the law - no otherwise why did Jesus Christ (a completely sinless man, perfect in every way) innocent of any crime against God and His Law die (Galatians 2:21). He who was perfect and innocent of any crime against God took the Judgement for our sins on himself (read Ishiah 53). God laid the judgement for our iniquity on Him so that we may find life through His Blood shed on the cross (a type of the altar). Jesus' final words were it is finished - what was finished the work of redemption of mankind. Now your belief in paganism does not match the What the Word of God says that Jesus Christ must be Lord and must be seated on the throune of your heart. This can only happen if you are prepared to give up your beliefs and place your trust in the finished work of redemption found in Jesus Christ alone. The whole bible calls sinners to repentance (this means a change of heart, a realisation that you are sinful and in need of redemption). Unless you are prepared to let Jesus Christ be the Lord of your life and die to this world and its belief mecahnisms I am afraid that you can read your Bible, go to church, be as good as you possibly can but it won't get you into heaven or give you salvation. Redemption comes through Jesus Christ alone, Jesus Christ crucified the Bible says nothing more nothing less.

Donald
