Is it wrong for a Christian to want to look Attractive

IS it wrong for a Christian to want to look Attractive/Healthy and set a goal of excersize or something to achieve an attractive/healthy look?

I think it is okay to want to be healthy and to look your best. If it overshadows everything else and becomes an idol (to look good, attractive, etc) that is wrong.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (King James Version)

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

It is a good thing in my opinion that all who follow Jesus should look their best. Not in a superior way of course, but just the natural presentation of cleanliness and decency.

Excercise is a way of life which I have followed for many years.

No it is not wrong but a good thing to do, imho.
 
Looking after your apperance and having a fitness regime is fine, wanting to look attractive - looking tidy, clean and persentable is attractive, but if you are referring to attractive so you catch the eye of the opposite sex that is where you need to be humble.

Do not let it become vanity - this is when we allow the worldliness to come into our lives.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Ephesians 4:17

Don't beat yourself up by wanting to look good enjoy your life and allow the Lord to lead you in such matters. Blessings
 
The world judges by the way we look! So we need to look as nice as we can!
We judge by the heart of the person! [Spirit]

It is absolutely wrong!!

And I think you should all stop...so I can look good for a change!! lol

Unless you are spending the rent and food money on plastic surgery it is a good thing to look as good on the outside as one should feel on the inside, after all we are children to a King.

Vanity is our nature, but to control it does not mean to get all sloppy and greasy!!
 
While Jesus was not appealing to the eye He drew men unto Himself. It was what was inside that caused them to come near, that should be remembered (Isa 53:2).
That being said I do not see how it is a problem unless one obsesses over their appearance.

I had basically figured out that from verses of the bible on what true beauty is etc.
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't misssing anything and I like posting to you people.. :3

I agree Brother!
You know some are more spiritually minded , Some can tell right away, without us speaking, we are of God !
Some will hate us right away , others will love us right away!
 
What Does God Say

This Scripture says it all for me...

1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?


Does this mean we will succeed at this? No. But just try your best.
Know that God loves you know matter what you look like.
 
The world judges us by our looks! So we should try to look clean and nice!
The LORD judges us by our heart[Spirit]
We should judge also by the spirit with in the person!

Still we love all mankind and want all to come to the Lord and be part of HIS family and household!

We are Not to be part of the world , nor go there way!

We follow ONLY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST !We will stand out , because we will not be a part evil nor want it in our lives! Or our families lives!
 
No! It's not wrong to look attractive. Your body is the temple of God and when you are exercising, watching what you eat, and wear clothes that fit right you are in God's good side.

It's when you are obese or too overweight, you eat lots of junk food, and wear clothes that don't fit (either too tight or too loose) then it's a bad thing to God.

You must keep your body well and healthy (inside and outside, okay). So, exercising, watching what you eat, and wear the right kind of clothes are great with God. It's okay to look good, inside and out.

But of course, never be obsessive with it and don't go to extremes to look attractive (i.e. bikinis, tiny t-shirts and/or tank tops, short shorts, etc.). These kind of clothes are no-no's to God.

Listen WE need to Stop looking down on the body we came in ?

We should try to look nice ?

That can and Will be Different in other peoples eyes ?

Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God:

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Meaning ? No matter how we make our bodies look , They are NOT going to please GOD !

So that part makes us ALL on the same footing , no Matter how we look ?

But the world judges us by how we appear ?

So we want to be clean and nice looking !

Some will like the out ward form , being a certain way?

Moat sorry to say are looking for perfection. Never going to happen !

WE should not over do this ! I understand some might! Hopefully GODS Holy children will Not!


This is talking about the flesh its self and Not our spirit or His spirit!


We cannot give the flesh great importance!

They are important , because we dwell in them ! We need to rake care of them some!
 
I believe a healthy and attractive mind will enhance a healthy and attractive body! As long as you are happy, everything else will follow.
