"For you have one teacher and that is Christ"

Me and wife;code name(HEPAIDITALL),were just wondering, do you go to church?

Yes. But every church claims to teach the bible as do ALL false teachers. But GOD IS NOT DIVIDED. So he will not tell one group of people one thing and another group the opposite because God is not a liar and won't contradict himself. It's people who are divided.

So in order to know which church is teaching Christ's words and which church isn't, I need to know and believe Christ's words. Then when I listen to those who are teaching Christ's words, then I'm still learning only from Christ.

But the problem is, most Christians think that Christ is divided (even though they won't say that). That's why they believe that people who disagree with each other can both be right.

First of all, never in my entire lifetime have I ever made the statement, or even insinuated, that anything Jesus said is wrong! That is a blatant lie, is “bearing false witness” and is a straw dummy! Maybe you’d best go back and read what I have written.

As for the questions you have not answered from my previous posts, they are as follows:

“…which teachings of Jesus do we follow?”

“In following God’s Word, which parts do YOU follow?”

“If no one needs a teacher (by the way, that’s an idea that is contrary to Scripture - see Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 11:26; Acts 8:26-35; 1Timothy 3:2; 2Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 4:11; to cite just a few) then how do YOU decide which parts to follow?”

"So, I am interested to know how it is you decide what is for YOU and what isn’t?"

"Do the verses I quoted above on “teaching” apply to YOU?"

“So, for the sake of clarification, which part of “God’s word alone” do YOU follow?"

"So, I am interested to know how it is you decide what is for YOU and what isn’t?"

The fact is, I have cited seven questions that you haven’t answered. If you claim you have, then paste your answers from those previous posts under each question, that may help to eliminate any further confusion.

And by the way, I have made no false statements about anything and I am not attempting to quarrel with you. However, I will not let such utter nonsense go un-refuted - for the sake of others reading this thread. I am fully persuaded that nothing that is said will help someone with your attitude. I am not interested in changing your mind or heart - that is something God will have to do, if it is to be done at all. By the way, you might want to meditate on the "fruit of the Spirit" from Galatians 5:22-23. BLESSINGS. Doc

I will answer you one more time. If you don't get it, there's nothing I can do about that. You will NEVER make me interpret the bible to make Christ's words in MT. 23:9-10 out to be a lie. Never.

1) When you read the bible, you first believe every verse. Only when you do that, can you reconcile the whole bible together.

2) Mt. 23:10 is true because Jesus said it. So we need to know ALL of Christ's words first before we can know who's passing along His words and who isn't because false teachers do exist.

3) Therefore all teachers who agree with Christ and don't contradict anything Jesus says ARE PASSING ALONG CHRIST'S TEACHINGS. That means when we listen to those teachers, we are still learning ONLY from Christ.

So you can never distinguish a true teacher from a false teacher without know God's word in the first place. And since God is the only infallible source for the truth that exists, God wants us to know His word. MT. 4:4, Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

That reconciles the whole bible together regarding this issue and doesn't make Christ's words in MT. 23:9-10 out to be a lie. So only when you believe Jesus in MT. 23:9-10, will you put it together with the verses you quoted instead of make them contradict themselves.

How very sad. I don't know who has "taught" you, but you are an obvious product of what you were condemning in your original post.

I will now remove myself from any further dialogue with you whatsoever, in obedience to Proverbs 26:4. Doc

Sorry but personal attacks don't make Christ's words in MT. 23:9-10 to be a lie. So you had better believe that verse and you will then reconcile the verses you quoted together with that verse which you have not done. But that's your problem, not mine. So I agree, further conversation with you will be futile.

Carico

But every church claims to teach the bible as do ALL false teachers.Okay then what do we do, you seem to have such a negative attitude toward any type of teaching, but yet make the claim of going to church. It seems that your saying that everybody is wrong, why do we have pastor`s, teachers, why does the Bible tell us that where much is given, much is required. I agree that the following of man will only lead you astray, but not all men are bad. If you believe that every man is wrong, bad ,false and not true, then how do you put yourself in fellowship with anyone, how have you not found yourself to be on the great (I) throne,is all your conversations debates, or do you even have any at all? We must have some type of mutal respect for our brothers and sisters that arent as muture as some of us,this is the teaching part of the sanctification. Your not the only one who is right, but your not wrong either, we pray for you sister.:peace:

Paul and Jesus had a negative attitude toward false teachers as well. I'm saying that the bible is right, including MT. 23:9-10 and 1 Corinthians 3:1-9. So I'll go with God's words over the words of any man. I'll pray that one day you can do the same.

So do you read and understand Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek?

As I was reading this thread, I was reminded of these verses of scripture with emphesis on the last verses.

1Corinthians :1-16
When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him"— but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

So do you read and understand Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek?

As God demonstrated so aptly at pentecost, He is not only capable of spreading His word in all languages, he absolutely does so.

However, I do have the interlinear bible which has the Greek and Hebrew words under each English word and that only confirms that the meaning in the major translations is no different than the meaning in the "original" languages. What matters most is that since there are no contradictions in the major translations, then they could only have come from an infallible God. :embarasse

So you don't see any contradiction between the different english translations? Do you believe that these translations are without error?

What do you think about the concordant translation and Young's literal translation?

Did Jesus instruct us to follow scripture alone?

YES. What about, "for you have ONE teacher and that is Christ" do you NOT understand? The word "one"? :shock:If so, then I'll give you a hint; it doesn't mean more than one. If you don't understand that then have a dictionary handy every time you read the bible.

Which translation disagrees with that? NONE. Only God has the infallible truth so only God can be trusted. Books by human authors are fallible because humans are fallible. So if you don't understand the simple words in that verse, I'm afraid you'll have no place to go to know where to find the truth. You'll thus be up a creek on judgment day if you have no clue where to find the infallible word of God.

I am wondering what role you think the HolySpirit plays in the believers life?

But if one doesn't trust God's word alone, then he can't spot a false teacher if he stood right in front of him.

What do you think of this scripture in comparison to your statement posted above, Carico?

John 5:39&40
"You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life.

John 14:26
But when the Father sends the Counselor as my representative--and by the Counselor I mean the Holy Spirit--he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I myself have told you.

1John 2:27
But you have received the Holy Spirit, [fn] and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true--it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.

Just wondering how you reconcile this scripture with the scripture in Matthew 23?

Read my OP: MT. 23:9, "And you are not to be called teacher for you have ONE teacher and that's Christ."

1 Corinthians 3:3-9, "You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? For when one says; "I folow Paul', and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men? What, after all is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants through whom you came to believe." Read the rest of that verse to see that only God makes things grow.

Isaiah 2:22 "Stop trusting in man who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?"

Psalm 146:3 "Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground. On that very day their plans come to nothing."

Psalm 49:13, "This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers who approve of their sayings. Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them."

The whole bible tells us that the infallible truth comes from God's word alone. The words of humans die when humans die; only God's Word lasts forever.

So as Paul explains, what causes divisions among people is when people want to follow humans, like Luther, Calvin, the pope, etc, not God. And as I explained in my OP, that's why there are so many different denominations and contradictory teachings in Christianity. But the sinful nature is always at work inside a Christian as Paul knew it would be. So people continue to ignore Paul and keep listening to theologians, pastors, and Christian writers. So the Christian church is more divided than ever before because of that.

But if one doesn't trust God's word alone, then he can't spot a false teacher if he stood right in front of him.

But do you have any scripture that states we should only be led by the scripture?

But do you have any scripture that states we should only be led by the scripture?

:shock:I just listed the verses. "for you have ONE TEACHER and that is Christ." But fist you have to know where to find God's word so you can know when you're trusting in man or trusting in God. You obviously don't know yet. So you obviously don't know what the word "ONE" means or you simply don't believe Christ's words. Thus, quoting scripture to you is obviously a waste of time since you don't know that scripture is the infallible word of God.

You obviously don't know either, seeing how you have repeatedly failed to show any scripture that specifically says we are to be led by scripture and scripture alone.

Check your attitude and humble yourself. Try to answer with scripture.

Sorry but I did answer with scripture in the previous posts. So you've made another FALSE statement. But since you don't believe scripture, then there's no point in repeating it. So read MT. 23;10 and the verses I quoted again and the whole book of Psalms. But since you don't believe Christ's words that we have ONE TEACHER, not 2,3 or several, then you're not going to believe the whole book of Psalms either. But you've provided ZERO SCRIPTURE SAYING THAT WE SHOULD LISTEN TO ANY OTHER WORDS THAN GOD'S. So check your attitude and humble yourself. Otherwise I'm afraid you're up a creek on judgment day.

Avoiding to post the scriptures has only shown your ignorance and closed this thread. Let me know if you change your attitude and want to try and I will reopen the thread.
