Do we really believe the God of all Truth would answer such prayer?
Are they praying to our God, and Saviour of the world, King Jesus, not at all.
We need to be in prayer for their lost souls.

i do believe that god will answer for the downfall of america. why wouldnt he we are greedy self wanting loathing in sexual lust killing babies by the millions. looking for the worldly things rather than godly things. who is this nation that falsefies the lords truth and then think that we are above the wrath of god or that god will let this nation stand forever?

God will answer how ever He will, answer because of who He is.
And we can guess all we want as to how that will be, but only He, and He is God, does know.

We dont need to try to guess what the Lord is thinking or what he is about to do to us as a nation and to every individual that persists in their sin.
God has made his plans and intentions clear and we are held acontable for our actions and inactions.
God has been known to use Godless nations in past times to bring wrath and judgement upon his own people and he will do it again for the sake of his ellect,we must stay alert and not be shocked when we finally find our selves in the hands of a diciplining God.
we must not let our selves become zombies playing into the hands of racist who are opportunistic and use times such as these to excell their wicked schemes.

Listen to the words of Paul.
1 Corinthians 10:1-11....
Moreover,brethren,I would not that ye should be ignorant,how that all our fathers were under the cloud,and all passed through the sea;
And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
And did all drink the same spiritual drink:for they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them:and that rock was Christ.
But with many of them God was not well pleased:for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Now these things were our examples,to the intent we should not lust after evil things,as they also lusted.
Neather be ye idolaters,as were some of them;as it is written,The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.neather let us commit fornication,as some of them commited, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
Neather let us tempt Christ,as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
Neather murmur ye,as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
Now all these things happened unto them for ehamples:and they are written for our admonition, upon whome the ends of the world are come

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall...

what an excellent post. one thing i think we all need to remember is that our faith is in christ and christ will do what is best for us. it may be time for some of us to be martyred for other souls to see the truth. fear of anything in this world is not for us. our souls belong to christ not the wickedness in this world.

Dieing is a dreaded and horrible experience. No I havent died yet but I seen peple close to me die bloody deaths.
but if we are going to die for Jesus and His gospel then in this case any day is a good day to die Amen.

Psalm 116:15.
Preascious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Philippians 1:29.
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ not only to believe in him,but also to suffer for his sake.

John 16:1-3.
These things have I spoken unto you ,that ye should not be offended.
They shall put you out of the synagogues:yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
and these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Aahhh..

Speak for yourself.

I for one will not stand by and wait to see the end result.
I have a wife, sons and family who I love, care for, and will not stand idly by to watch one of them
become a martyr in this country. Neither will the US armed forces.

We didn't wait to see what Christ did after 9-11.

One day: "They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks." Isaiah 2:4

Until then: those who live by the plowshare and the pruning hooks, will be subjugated by the sword.

You live in the greatest country that has ever been on the planet!
No other country has given of itself, it's resources, and it's countrymen, on the behalf of others.

The "truth" is: everybody wants, and is still coming here! For good reason.

Well if your hit by a nuclear attack, or a poison gas released into the air by evil men. Then there's not much you could do. Just make sure your ready for it if it does happen.

Steven was stoned by evil men while calling on the lord to receive his spirit, but he was harmless, a sheep for the slaughter. The apostle Paul was even there to witness it. We have to rely on God in a time like this, not men. And he will receive us into his heavenly kingdom by grace, like the grace Steven received.

Paul says he died daily in the flesh and was not afraid of death. O death were is your sting, O grave where is your victory. He even welcomed it at one point. So i guess im just speaking about the temptation of avenging ourselves, or taking the law into our own hands. This is not the bible way, scripture tells us the bible way, and i believe with all my heart that God will let what is to transpire, transpire.

The angel of the lord encamps around them that fear him But do you believe that? I do...

Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

Vengeance is the lords, as only his vengeance is true and righteous.

Im a little worried about some Christian Americans, as they have a bible in one hand, and a gun in the other. This is not the way God planed it...

Paul said to a priest that if he hit him, God would hit back. Giving God the vengeance that he only should give. Paul understood this and didn't use his own wisdom here, or threaten in a fleshly manner. He used his faith, and wisdom in this situation. We should do no less, if we have faith in our God...

Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

God bless all

what does the bible state. people in america act asthough we are immuned to the whole wrath of god. why because we go to church as a cool thing to do. because we believe that we are free to worship as we wish. god is sending his wrath upon this nation. we have no one to blaim but ourselves and our wickedness.

people always want this great fluff love of god and that is it. but if we are living in sin then we are facing an angry god that is fed up with the wickedness in this nation. we call a lot of things we do ministry and we call it under the name of christ. when in fact it is a business. a way for us to make money.

yet we believe we are to holy to fall. what kind of garbage are we truly taught in american churches to believe such garbage.

Fellowservant,

Steven was stoned for prosyletizing his faith. I'm pretty certain on 9-11, we were attacted for reasons other than those shared by Steven.

As far as the nuclear attack aspect, the obvious is inherent to that arguement.
But also is the concern for ones own family in the midst of chaos and anarchy which no doubt will ensue.
As to the "temptation of avenging ourselves, or taking the law into our own hands", I agree in context to ourselves not doing this. But let the proper authorities handle that.

"God will let what is to transpire, transpire." Yes, he does. There is His permissive will, and then there is His perfect will.

Interesting you bring up 'the Angel of the Lord'. This, many theologins believe, is Christ preincarnate. Jesus, before he was flesh and blood. And now, as believers in Christ, we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us. He fives us power from on high. Lk 24:49

I completely disagree with you as to "American Christians with a bible in one hand and a gun in the other". We read quite plainly about men carring side arms within the ranks of the disciples. Jesus never disapproved of approved of it. He was silent on the issue. It is pretty certain that Peter carried a sword during Jesus' time on earth. John 18:12. Jesus only rebuked him when he couldn't see the ultimate destiny Jesus was persuing. This was Peter's second rebuke on this issue. The first being in Matt. 16:23.

Lets remember to keep seperate an individual Christians actions,
from those of a nation.. founded on Christian principles.

We are living in the age of grace, and this grace is God's grace, and we as a Christian people must apply grace equally and not only when it benefits our agenda.
There are many people who dont know the grace of God because we have blurred the gospel with politics and Americanism, and to be born again does not mean you have to be born on American soil.
This is a prosperous Country we are living in, and to be blessed of God is a wonderful thing but every son the bible says must have correction from God.Hebrews 12:6

I dont invite death or martyrdome upon my self or my family because I dont think Im worthy of such an honor for the cause of Christ.
God knows who is able to bear this and who is not.

The bible is clear on the issue of being prepared to suffer and possibly even die for your faith.Matthew 10:38-39.

The Apostle Peter may have had the tendency to want to draw his sword as im sure we are all like wise tempted,
but once Peter was fully converted he was definately no longer trusting in what his sword could acomplish for him.
Luke 22:32.
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not:and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Further more we have no biblical evidence supporting any idea of the Apostle Peter pursuing any military career but the opposite is true of the Apostle.

In the words of the Apostle Peter.
1 Peter 2:21.
For even hereunto were ye called:because Christ also suffered for us,leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Who when he was reviled, reviled not again;when he suffered,he treathened not;but commited himself to him that judgeth righteously:

We know from biblical testamony that The Apostle Peter had absolutely no confidence in the power of a sword but he put all his faith in the power of God alone.

Acts 5:40.
And to him they agreed;and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

If Peter was a man of the sword this would have been a perfect oppotunity for peter to teach us all the art of war,but no, here Peter paves the way as an example of what it means to trust in christ, and here the Apostle exalts the privilege of suffering for Christ.

Acts 5:41.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

The bible speaks loud and clear on the integrity of the Apostles how they were neither sword wielding nor were they ever lobbying their goverment to declare war on those who opposed the gospel. The Apostle Paul made it a rule that we were to bless and curse not.Romans 12:14.

In the words of the Apostle Paul.
2 Corinthians 10:4-8
For the weapons of our warefare are not carnal,but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;
casting down imaginations,and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
V.8
For though I shoul boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification and not for your destruction,I should not be ashamed..

Through out the pages of the new testament we read time and again how the church was persecuted, and not once will you read of diciple or apostle banding together with swords to overtake the opposition.

Acts 8:2-4.
Acts 16:22-23.
Acts 14:19-22.

We will overcome not by the sword but by our testamony and by the blood of the Lamb ,Revelations 12:11.

Just my opinion here, but your above quote and the text which followed,
had little to do with the subject. Your statement is convoluted at best on the subject Carlos.

The state of grace we live in has nothing to do with what we administer to others,
who wish to kill fellow believing or non-believing countrymen.. Christian or otherwise.

Grace according to the bible is not only the reason why we have been saved but we are also mandated to speak the message of grace into the ears of all, friend or foe.
Colossians 4:6'
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

The bible refers to believers as earthen vesels,we carry inside us a treasure,
and this treasure is the gospel, the opportunity for salvation and forgiveness of sin at God's expense.
2C0rinthians 4:7.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exellency of the power may be of God and not of us.

Grace is not just something we get and hog on to,Jesus said that freely we receaved and freely we must give.
Matthew 10:8.
Heal the sick cleanse the the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils;freely ye have receaved freely give.

Ephesians 4:29.
Let no corrupt comunication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

If you will read all of the apostle Paul's missionary travels and inprisonments you will see that he always applyed grace to every hearing ear even those who wanted to kill him,Paul's desire was that men be saved and repent.

The author and finisher of our faith him self ministered grace to a hostile and unbelieving people when Jesus opened the book of Isaiah 61:1,2.the same crowd of people who heard his gracious words would later on put him to death.

Luke 4:22.
And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said is not this Joseph's son?

we must be willing to administer grace through the gospel proclamation with out being prejudice toward people wether they are friendly or hostile to us.

we must be willing to administer grace through the gospel proclamation with out being prejudice toward people wether they are friendly or hostile to us.

As I stated before and to quote myself:

Lets remember to keep separate an individual Christians actions, from those of a nation.. founded on Christian principles.

There is a distinction between and individual's actions as a Christian..

and the actions of a nation in self-defense.

I do not expect nor wish my government to apply grace to another country or group of individuals, who wish to strike this country or it's people, with their twisted reasoning of justification, as the 'wrath of God' for striking us. Nor do I expect congress or the president to go onto cnbc/fox/abc and make a statement such as, "We must understand this is the wrath of God on this country, and so we must repent."

The begging question then would be: Repent to Who? To Allah? That is the religion where the attackers will most likely
come from, and Allah is who they'll expect us to repent to.

You stated before:

There are many people who dont know the grace of God because we have blurred the gospel with politics and Americanism, and to be born again does not mean you have to be born on American soil.
This is a prosperous Country we are living in, and to be blessed of God is a wonderful thing but every son the bible says must have correction from God

The United States of America is not a son of God who deserves correction. And the gospel stands despite politics.
This is what I concluded, from what you were saying.

Your statement:
"to be willing to administer grace through the gospel with out being prejudice toward people wether they are friendly or hostile to us"
..simply does not apply to the government of the United States.

To administer grace is, of course, by individuals.

Paul was a straight up evangelist.. of the Lord Jesus Christ.. not of the nation of Israel.

In His debt,
LoJ

And again, Jesus remained silent on the issue of bearing arms. He never condemned such actions.

I dont expect my goverment to apply grace either.

I just dont think it is honest to twist scripture to support ones arguement.
by saying the bible is silent on issues that speak loud and clear,I also dont think it is very brotherly of you to try to twist my post just for the sake of looking smarter and asuring your own self of argumentive victory.

The bible makes it's own case to prove that all the diciples and apostles had their faith set on Christ alone and not in their swords.

I dont disaprove of goverment fulfilling their duties, all Im saying is Christians should do theirs by ministering grace.

The united states is not the son of God,but that has been part of the problem with many christian americans they exalt their nation above God and speak of their nation as if it is the very hand of God,and brag about how this nation has given this or that not realizing that that prosperity is not a correct measure for Godliness.

I already know we are not going to agree on this so I sign out on to the next topic.
have good and Godly day .

Just to clarify, I was referring to God letting Steven die in faith and honor as a sheep for the slaughter. Not how or why he was Martyred.

As to the "temptation of avenging ourselves, or taking the law into our own hands", I agree in context to ourselves not doing this. But let the proper authorities handle that.

This is exactly what im trying to put forth in this tread brother...

Well we do have angels mentioned after Pentecost, that did deliver some folks, Paul for one, and Peter. And i doubt they were Christ preincarnate.

Me too i said some not all, and im also refering here to Christians who would avenge themselves, gun or no gun. Christ was not silent on weapons, he told Peter that if he lived by the sword, he would die by the sword.

from those of a nation.. founded on Christian principles.

Exactly some of my point here...

right now we are all living in grace. even in the time of gods wrath it is his grace. letting us all know that he desires for us to repent of our ways. but a warning that his patience is running out and he is tired of us playing with him. it is not like he hasnt given us what we need to turn to him.

God is not a God of confusion.
One can't live in a state of grace and wrath. They are incongruent with each other.

Please state where in the word you find "His patience is running out and He is tired of us playing with him"? As you stated above.

p.s. Please edit your post and remove most of what you quoted me - in reply to Fellowservant. You only needed to quote what I said to you, since you are only replying to that portion. This practice is stated in the Forum rules.

i do not know how to quote only part of the posts. i will give you scripture later. i do not have time to get into all of it right now. however you are right i typed that all wrong. god warns us before his wrath as a statement of his grace.

those of us that are saved will not see his wrath. however this nation as a whole is indeed going to see gods wrath.
