Okay so here I am new to this site. where would I go to learn more than the jesus died for your sins truth, that I feel is just the tip of the iceberg of christianity. From what I understand to be christian is to be Christ like, but that is the hard part to learn. So where can I understand my readings even better than what just reading the Bible?

Owen, you are right, there is much more. God is willing to give far more than most have experienced, because many are not willing to pay to cost required to walk in holiness. I would read the book of Romans first. Are you saved? What is your relationship with Christ right now?

Welcome to TalkJesus, Owen. I presume you are a relatively new believer. Your hunger for more information is exciting. Are you a member of a local church congregation? In my opinion, it is very important to find a congregation that is centered on the Bible more than on ceremony.

Secondly, get a study Bible - a Bible that offers study notes on Scripture verses. I've used study Bibles for years and they are extremely valuable to me for the insights they offer. Secondly, and this is my opinion only, avoid the King James unless your linguistic skills make it easy to understand 17th Century English.

Thirdly, feel free to ask your questions. The members of TJ are not in uniform agreement on some things, but, we are agreed that Jesus is our Lord and our Savior and we're excited to help new folks learn.

Okay many have asked about my relationship with God. I grew up in what my parents called a christian home, I knew who he was and what he did but I didn't know him. Then in my later years I stopped going to church completely and started a crazy life that in the end left my tired and bored so I moved away to a small town and met some cool people who invited me to a church of christ. I think it was here that I started to estabolish a relationship with Him. I don't want to read to much into things happening. Things did happen I began to ask is this God is this his work. Well one thing led to another and now I'm back in my home town and my old friends are trying to get me to my old self who they miss so much. I have started going to the church my family goes to but it is so big I feel lost in the crowd. I came froma church wgere I woke up at five every wednesday to meet with the preacher and about six other guys to discuss guy problems. I went to his house for christmas and spent it with his family. Now at this church I just seem lost. Growing tired missing that fellowship. So I'm about a year old christian that just wants to grow again.

I think some one prayed for me to find friends, for many a window opened up for me to find new friends. Also a new group for study, yay! And thanks for those who care and Him who knows what I want and need.
