HI, I'm new to the forum. This place is awesome! Can't wait to meet people on here!! It's nice to have a place to meet Christian friends and follow Jesus.
I have a question that starts out as a story.
Okay, I'm in college and I don't alway tithe. A month or two ago, I had been putting 10% of my money aside to give to a Church. But then, regretably, I decieded to do something more "logical" with the money, since I had a new apartment with hardly any furniture, I bought a couch off craigslist. The guy I bought it from agreed to deliver it to my apartment. We had a very hard time getting the couch through the door and the guy, who was a police officer, ended up ripping off his thumbnail and hurting his finger really bad when his finger got caught on the door. So there was blood going all down my kitchen sink by dishes and he was hurt really bad. We finally did get the couch in but I knew deep down that this wasn't from God. I felt very guilty because if I hadn't spent my tithe money on a couch this guy wouldn't be growing his thumb nail back for the next year. And I started to wonder, what furniture God had in store for me instead, and I bet it would have fit nicely through the door and no one would have been hurt.
Then on Friday my boyfriend (who I have been wanting to marry one day) didn't return my call or texts. He came by my house Saturday and I didn't answer the door very fast and he thought I was mad at him. When he got home he texted me a picture through the cell phones to explain why he didnt answer my call & texts. The picture was of his ring finger had been caught on a door and it messed up his nail and cut his finger pretty bad. He said that was is the reason he didnt talk to anyone the day before because he was hurt.
Well the last time I saw an injury like that, the situation wasn't from God. I felt like God was leading me to read about relationships in the Bible and the Bible I have has lesson sections and it said God would send strong warning signs of who not to hang out with.
I often pray for the will of God to be over my life.
Could it be that this man I'm seeing is not what God wills for my life and he warned me through this event?
I know God wouldn't hurt anyone to warn me, but He also works in mysterious ways and one event effects another and it could lead to all kinds of different things God is doing. Like my boyfriend(?) couldn't work because he is a guitar player so that also changes a chain of events. God has also been know to put aliements on people and such. He is working with all of us in different ways.
So I would love all opinions on this. I don't want to keep seeing this guy if God is trying to warn me but I also don't want a coinencidence to confuse me.
Pray for me and I'll be praying for you too!
Thanks for your input!
