143 days

The first time I read this quote, I thought it was dangerously true. Then I really started pondering it and thought how would this apply to our own lives/careers? Let's look at it again to see how absurd it is.
• You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
• You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
• You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
• You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
• You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT....
• 'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.
• That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
• After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days?
We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.
AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and campaigning for him.
We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are OK with this for the President of the United States of America ?
Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol.

Wow. That's insane. *sigh* Personally, i don't agree with Obama being president, but don't forget to keep him in prayer. Our nation needs all the prayer we can get right now; this is deffinately a time for Christians to unite.
Psalm 75:7
-new creation

I say give him a chance. After all he is the President. I didn't vote for him but I'll try to support him.

For a man who preaches personal responsibility he has spent more money in his young presidency (including thousands of pet projects) than any one in history.
Sadly if my grandson lives a long life he may not see these debts payed off. I tremble for my country and pray for my leaders. May God have mercy on us.

Mercy doesn't mean that we won't go hungry or hurt, it means we'll servive..

I do not see any connection between our statements. Regardless of "time on the job" if you want to be president you had best be up to the job.
To campaign on no earmarks, to declare your stimulus has no ear marks (there were over 8,000), to force the most expensive bill in the history of the planet through while never reading it nor even allowing congress to do so smacks of major deception and desperation.

PS: Historically the more a government tries to fix a recession the deeper and longer it gets.

You got that right. If the world needs fixing it won't be because of the government, it will be because of the people..

America is still one of the greatest countries in the world. And although I see facts, I am reminded of these scriptures that remind me that God changes things and people:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.
