Genesis 3:15 (New King James Version)

Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”


I'm wondering why her Seed is capitalized, as well as His heel?

Genesis 3:20 (New King James Version)

I'm also wondering what it actually means for Eve to be the mother of all living?

2. satan bruising His heel is speak also of the messiah being bruised upon the cross at calvary.

3. Eve is called the mother of all living things because there were no babies before this. She was created a full grown women and all humankind came from her. Keep in mind that Adam and Eve were created beings. Every person born after this was pro-created.

That's what I thought, but it seems like there should be some sort of significance to it, but there doesn't seem to be. Like, is that just it? Eve is always about the sin, and that's pretty much all that is mentioned about her. I have never before heard anyone relate the Messiah to her before. Like there's got to be some bigger picture significance to this. There is so much talk and teaching about the great patriarchs, I'm not complaining, but to have this relationship seems worth mentioning. I don't know exactly what I'm looking for with this. What is the significance? Forgive me if I'm just repetative, as I'm not really sure what question I'm trying to answer. All I can think of is significance.

I would try to get a copy of the Hebrew Bible, and an extensive Hebrew-English dictionary and language guide, and go from there. Maybe the way that it is written in the original language will shed some light on why the English translators decided to capitalize some words and not others.

For one thing it shows Christ is the victor, and always will be.

That gives us hope, for in him we too are more than conquerors. I believe that is significant....right?

In my foot notes it says Christ will deliver the deathblow to Satan. But in so doing HE WILL BE BRUISED HIMSELF for he shall bruise thy head, BUT THOU SHALT Bruise HIS HEAL....excuse the capitals....
Shalt bruise his head refers to Christ bruising on the cross, which led to eventual crushing of Satan ,and his kingdom.

I am not real sure what you are asking so let me make an assumption adn you tell me if I am wrong.

You are asking what the significance is in the relationship between Eve and the Messiah?

Hmmmm... ok,

well let me ponder for second or two.....


First off, since Eve is the mother of all... meaning she gave birth to the first babies on earth. Then, the line of the messiah comes from her.

The geneology of the Messiah is shown through out the Bible. If not for Eve, there would be no Jesus.

Adam and Eve are spoken of many times in the first five books of the bible. To eliminate her from the word, as some try to do saying that the story of adam and Eve is not to be taken literally, then.. the word of God becomes fallible and not infallible. In fact.. the complete bible would be a lie if the story of Adam and Eve was just a fable.


I am sure others can think of other good reasons, but thats all that comes to mind right now..

And as a woman myself, it brings a stronger female presence to the Bible. I've grown up without that in Christianity and religion. Eve was important. It is reassuring to me that God put that in the Bible. But I'm not sure the reach for me on this yet, though.

The Messiah came through the seed of the woman as the mother of His earthly body was human but His Father was God.

As far as women playing an important part in the Bible they were heroes of faith, prophetess, leaders and willing yielded vessels.
