We humans beings are made up of three parts . You can see the physical part. that is your Body, called the OUTWARD MAN in the bible. Your other two parts cannot be seen with your physical eyes, because those parts are not physical.

2cor, 4:16 For which cause we faint not: but though our OUTWARD MAN parish, yet the INWARD MAN is renewed day by day .

The second part of you is your soul... your soul is your conscious Awareness of the things around you . it is what makes you who you are! It is the seat of your personality , and makes you a little bit different than everyone else . Your soul is called the INWARD MAN of INNER MAN your five natural senses are ,, doors to your soul. Through these five doors you become conscious or aware of your surroundings. But your soul cannot become aware of God through your natural senses alone. You cannot see God That is a function of your spirit which is within your soul. There will be more about this function later. The third part of you is your spirit. it is more difficult to be aware of you spirit than any other part of you . even though it is opperating all the time .

1Peter 3:4 But let the hidden man of the heart , in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of Great price.

Your spirit is the inner most part of you . It is within you soul , but on a deeper level than just the awareness of your soul. Your spirit is inside the core of your being. The Bible calls this core your heart , modern term. calls it your conscious or your subconscious mind . Both your spirit and your soul are in Your Body .

Human souls are not immortal as is the common and popular belief. It can die spiritually or naturally or both! God tell us

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold all souls are mine , as the soul of the father , so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth , It shall DIE.

And yet in General Humanity still believes what the serpent said in the Garden .
\
Gen 3:4 and the serpent said unto the woman Ye shall not surely die....
And to clinch the matter, God has given immortality to only one person his son Jesus .

1st tim 6:16 Who Only hath immortality dwelling in the light WHICH NO MAN CAN APPROACH UNTO. whom no man hath seen nor can see.
john 5:26 For as the father hath life in himself . so hath he given to the son to have life in himself.

THE TRUE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST EXPOSES THE FALSE DOCTRINES THAT MEN HOLD SO TIGHTLY ...

2TIM 1;10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our saviour Jesus who hath abolished Death. and hath brought LIFE AND IMMORTALITY TO LIGHT (HOW YOU ASK) THROUGH THE GOSPEL...

Consider this If our souls are already immortal why,,, should the scriptures encourage us to SEEK AFTER ,, HONOR AND IMMORTALITY, ETERNAL LIFE.

For the soul to become immortal , it needs to be saved first and then be come conformed to the image of the ONLY ONE who has been given immortality at this time!

MORE TO FOLLOW.. GOD BLESS.
LET HIM THAT HATH AN EAR HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT IS SAYING UNTO THE CHURCHES .

Yes, amen, God created us in His image.
A picture of the trinity, it might seem.
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost........Spirit, Soul, and body

Awesome truth, an awesome God.

Even the man who is not saved though, is an eternal soul. The Bible says his worm shall never die.
Is.66:24 and Mark 9:44

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, an awareness even as the rich man in Hades. Matt.8:12 22:13 24:51 25:30
That is eternal death ,where we ,by faith are given eternal life.

Immortal in the sense of Life, I agree, for the lost it is eternal death.

Very good!
The Bible always lists them in order of pre-eminence :
Spirit, soul , body.

Is the spirit and soul the same thing? No way. Why? It says in Heb. 4:12 that the Word of God divides spirit and soul. Our recreated spirits are perfect in the sight of God. Our souls have to be renewed by the Word, but are not perfect until they are united and lined up with our spirits. When? When we get to heaven.

Peace, Golfjack

No, they aren't, I believe that was what was being said, but goes beyond my limited understanding, so just trust that God has it all in control. I think it is like this:
Our Soul must be born again of the Holy Spirit to have eternal life, the spirit of man lives on eternally also, but without coming to Christ for salvation it will die in hell, for eternity.
Is that correct, or vise verse! LOL

Reading back over this, this can be a deep subject!

God didn't mean for it to be complicated, for we need to come in faith as a child, believing.
Romans 10:9

That is thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Any way, that is where my faith stands, I came to him as a child, and I still am, his child. :friends:

Good job! Those are very useful scriptures. Thanks for putting it together like that.

Adam was told the day he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he would surely die. His body did not die that day nor his soul (mind, will, intellect, emotions, etc) but his spirit did. God is a Spirit and we commune with Him in our spirit. This could not be restored until we were born again. In this process the Holy Spirit of God imparts a new spiritual life into us.
God gives us a new spirit at salvation.
God gives us a new body at the resurrection.
Our soul is changed daily as it is renewed by the Word of God through the Spirit of God.

How can our soul be born again? Well, it's not. The Epistle of James 1::21: Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. It is the word of God that saves our souls. It is a process for sure. The real man is spirit. The spirit operates through the soul ( man's intellect, emotions, and will). And the soul in turn operates through the physical body. The real man ( who is spirit) and his soul live in a physical body. At physical death, the man and his soul leave the physical body and go to their eternal home.

I see the problem with many that they are body or mind centered. . Our salvatiion is based on being born again. The part of man that is born again is our recreated spirits.

soul

please read the creation of man bacuse in it we see two things dust of the earth and breath of GOd and with these two combined it says and man became a living soul.

you are a soul it is not something that is within you but rather you are a soul. the Bible tells us that when we die our dust returns to the ground and our spirit or breath of GOd returns to God none of these by themself are conscious. but rather as seen in Genesis it is the union of both dust and breath that make a living soul. eg if you take wood and nails and put it together you can have a box but if you take the nails away then you just have wood and nails and not a box.

Biblically we are created from dust of the ground and then the breath of GOd gave us life. thus we are a soul. many say that our soul can not die but Jesus told us to fear the one who can kill the soul. the Bible tells us that a soul can die why because you can die and you are a soul.

I really don't get how anyone can believe that there is this funny thing in us which is our soul I don't see the support for this line of thought.

we are told that there is no good in us yet some claim that our soul is good and connect this to our conscience but I see the Bible say different as mentioned abouve there is no good in us of ourselves. so then why is our conscience good it always askes us to do right and never wrong. I beleve that our conscience is none other than the Holy Spirit prompting us to do right. thus have you noticed when a murderer kills at first it seems wrong then the more they do it the less their conscience is seen untill they themself admit that they have no conscience. but we CHristians know that truley this is because they have greeved away the Holy Spirit by ignoring GOd to the point that they can not hear GOd anymore. (the unpardonable sin is the one you wont let GOd forgive becasue you wont ask for forgivness) we are told in the Bible two main defonitions for sin. one is breaking the law of GOd and the other is our conscience this is why Paul tells us that those who do not have the law yet live acording to their conscience will become a law unto themself and an example to others.

this good is not of us but of God. my point is as I have said our soul is not in us but rather it is us blessings all

Guess I'm not understanding your objection golfjack?

Jesus said to Nicodemus, "You must be born again" so I dont understand. please elaborate a bit, OK?

Even a dog has a living soul.! Do you think there are Dogs in hell, or heaven for that matter ... if so i would say that Disney has done his job well..

We are born again when we receive a new spirit, that spirit is life and receiving it is the new birth. We can now commune with God again and our spirit becomes the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
The soul (mind )is not born again and has to be renewed day by day.

What about Ps.16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither will wilt thou suffer thy Holy one to see corruption
Seems here Jesus soul was his spiritual personage.
His body was in the tomb, his soul visited hell.....?

Soul according to Webster; an entity which is regarded as being immortal,or spiritual
part of the person , and though having no physical or material reality, is credited with the functions of thinking, and willing, and thus credited with determining all behavior. Goes on with more...the spirit of a dead person, thought of as separate from the body, and leading an existence of its own.....

How then can we say a soul, is not born again?

Yes, when we come to Christ as Savior we have been born again, and the Holy Spirit is the earnest
of our inheritance, but seems soul and spirit are both an intricate eternal part of our being.
Just the word soul in our Bible can be a very in depth study , there are 95 references in my concordance. Cant put them all in here....

Amen. its also said in this verse that its the soul that dies:

(Eze 18:4) Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

but when adams soul died it probably effected the spirit also.
and like bro Boanerges pointed after reborn we are "made alive":

(Eph 2:1) And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

For years this subject hasn''t been taught enough in the Church. Also, the subject of faith hasn't been taught that much either. This is why I believe in Word of Faith teachings. The late Rev. Kenneth Hagin has taught me so much. :friends:

You are correct about the preeminence thought ... in Humanity ... though the body is preeminent for it is the flesh that rules our lives... until we come to know the lord and have been baptized the spirit is under authority to the flesh. The soul is the result of how we walk in the spirit and mortify the deeds of the body... His spirit is what enables us to bring the flesh ie Body under subjection.. and crucify the deeds of the flesh ;.

To clarify: This is Johna speaking, I (Gracealone) forgot to log off again, but agree.
We have no power in our flesh to please God, only through being Born again, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, can we begin our walk, in the spirit.
His spirit dwelling in us.
