Deuterocanonical books also known as the Apocrypha which consists of ;

Esdras
Tobit
Judith
Additions to Esther
The book of Wisdom
Ecclesiasticus
Baruch
The epistle of Jeremiah
Additions to Daniel
The Macabees
The prayer of Manasseh

The early Church regarded them as beneficial for examples on living but not for establishing doctine.

They are authentic writings, and to some degree express some spiritual inspiration. I read and reference them a little in my studies of church history. They are all written before Christ came so they would be considered a second canon of the old testament.

There are many wonderful books that I've read that have the inspiration of HolySpirit but are not part of the canonized scriptures. Many of Sparks and Tozer's books are undoubtably inspired by HolySpirit. But unless your wanting to do some indepth historical study, I would probably stick with a modern translation of the bible and modern inspirational books that are easier to relate with and understand.
