Favor of the Lord?

Praise God.

It would be best to follow the master, our Lord Jesus on this one.
We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We are righteousness, and we did not earn it.

That does not mean we have favor. Favor is God's Grace and blessing on you, when others are not getting prayers answered, sick, broke.........They are still God's Children, He still loves them, but they give him nothing to work with. Most are very weak in faith.

1) Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. (2 tim 2:15)
Study God's Word!!! it is the only place where we see that we do something in return for being approved. So keep you nose in the book and be a doer of the word of God.

2)Without faith it is impossible to please God..... (Heb 11:6)
Don't doubt, don't allow fear, keep that love commandment no matter what you feel.

Doing these two things will get you in the right direction for God's favor.

This could be pages long. (being on the right path, putting the kingdom first, abide in him keeping his commandments, ETC.......)

A good place would be to study Jesus!!! Our King!!
I am going to make a statement that those full of doctrine types get upset about.
Jesus did not start on this earth perfect..................
now don't put words in my writing!!! Look and learn........

Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Jesus did not start out having God's full favor on earth. (Ouch, my doctrine) But that is what the Word says.
If you follow his life, he kept his nose in God's word. He got involved with others at the synagogue. He never spoke a wrong thing, and he kept from sin.

He never doubted anything God said, He put the kingdom of God, and getting the message out above his own needs. He had compassion on others, as God is love. It is no wonder he had so much of God's power over him, he did some amazing things.

He is an example of were we start, follow and become like him. The works he did, He said we should do, and it will take following him very closely to get that kind of faith and anointing.
Don't break that love commandment!!!!

Jesus Is Lord.

We do not have to earn His favour. He is gracious and pours out blesssings and favour upon His children.

1 Cor.15: 10

10 But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.

God bless

Dear Brother Mike

I must make a stand for our beloved Lord Jesus Christ....who is, was and always has been perfect.

I do not see how the verses you quote deny His perfection.

For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus Christ the same, yesterday and today and forever Heb 13:8

God bless you brother

ha!!

Dear Sister, I did not mean to offend. Jesus was our example in all he did.

An example we are able to follow.

Did you read the scripture? He had to Increase!!!

Luk 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Jesus did not start out with God's full favor, or full of wisdom. If he did then there would be no room for Increase, he would have been perfect from day one.

Perfect means to come to completion, where no more room for improvement can be made. Jesus did that under the old Law, He continued to grow despite the opposition around him. As a young boy, He put the Word of God first. He is our example, that it can be done!!!

Had he come out perfect, knowing everything, complete, then there would be no way He could expect to us to follow his example. It would be unfair, and unjust. Everything he did would become unusable to us, as we could never have reached his level.

He said though it is enough that the student become like the Master. That it was possible.

We must be careful of old broken Doctrine that has been planted in us. It will cause us to over look those Scriptures that can truly bring us victory. It will cause us to miss what God is saying to us.

Jesus Is Lord.

According to Strong's:
Original Word: !x
Definition: favor, grace, acceptance, pleases, or charm/elegance/graceful

favor is used 51 times in the Bible.

Gen. 6:8-9 (NASB)
8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
9 These are the records of the generations of Noah.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with GOD.

"Jesus did not start out with God's full favor..."

Wow, where do I begin...

If being so easily convinced of your own conclusion, based on a 'word' - would Jesus Christ, being 'the WORD that became flesh', be enough to cast doubt on such a weak argument? If not, it would be necessary to quote the whole of the Book, for Christ was Gods express favor from the beginning until the end...

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself ...

Greetings,

If I may....

I have children... and as far as I am concerned they are perfectly my children and have been since conception....

I also plant seeds..... sometimes in my garden, which when I do so, I plant the seed of say, an apricot tree.... or a chestnut tree.... or maybe some exotic maize of one sort or another.... but when I plant it... what am I planting.....?

Everything in the seed is perfect.... it has it's type in it.

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

I plant a tree seed... it may take a while, but it is the tree all the way through.... everytime I look at it or tend to it, it is still the tree I am tending.... which will bear it's perfect fruit, after it's kind, year after year.

My children... when I have a boy... I think of a son... always will be perfectly my son...

how much more do we think God's only begotten Son is perfectly His Son... perfect in every way... and only perfect in Himself.

Bless you ....><>

Br. Bear

Perfect God.... Perfect love.... Perfect Son.... Perfect and pure Light.... Perfect Salvation.......

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but He that believeth not is condemned already, because He hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 3:16-21

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:1-5

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:5-11

amen.
