Mastering yourself
'Everything is permissible for me - but' 1 CORINTHIANS 6:12
Let your body know who's in charge. Try saying 'NO' to yourself everyday. If you do, you'll be able to do it when it matters. Paul writes, 'I am allowed to do all things, but not all things are good for me to do. I am allowed to do all things, but I will not let anything make me its slave.'
Paul measures what he does by these words. Is it good for me? Could it control me? Do you tell yourself, 'I need to change, but I'll do it tomorrow'! You can eat chocolate cake every night at bedtime if you want but it's not good for you, especially if you want to look buff!
You can do whatever you want with your time, spend your dosh how you want, but don't start complaining when you're left with nothing. You can fill your head with all kinds of rubbish but remember that filling your head the rubbish will mash up your head in no time leaving you with no respect for yourself or anyone else.
If you want to stop your bad habits and start some good ones, the only person who can do that is, YOU. Who you are is made up of what you choose everyday. Day by day, what you think, what you choose and what you do, is who you become.
