Salvation "comes" through no other method but that we accept Y'SHUA as our SAVIOR. Then however, we must make Him LORD. To do this we must then "follow" Him (Lk 9:23) and that leads us to living a life that is CHRIST-like or we do not have the love of YHVH within us. This is the ongoing life that is known as SOZO in the Greek. This is what takes us to the point of being saved. Until then, according to The Bible, we are merely "Believers"...
Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Just as my Jewish forefathers and my father had to awake out of our slumber so must the so-called "church" if it is to be "saved." To this Y'SHUA said...

Today the "church" does the same thing and has lulled the people to sleep! They think they are "saved" when they are NOT.

Works should be the natural result of a change in heart from a heart based in the world and one based in YHVH. If after one accepts Y'SHUA there are no resultant changes within that person then they have nothing but words! If there is the change then they have the "Promise" of salvation as long as they live in that "Promise"...
Rom 11:22 if you would remain in the goodness, otherwise you would be cut off.

Unlike others I do not ask you to believe ME! I give you The Word of YHVH and ask you to believe HIM?
If you reject what I am putting before you, that is your problem because you will be the one standing before YHVH when HE asked why did you not believe and live HIS Word unto salvation?
I feel sorry for anyone who thinks they are "saved" on this earth for you make a mockery of the Word of YHVH, for you are gambling with your life...

You must understand the eternal aspect of His work, finished on that cross, after which He was raised to glory.
Jesus Christ is eternal, and so are His judgements.

Behold! NOW, TODAY, is the day of salvation.

Be careful not to over rule the LORD in your zeal to express what you think you know.

He knows what He is doing. He is able to save ... even you. Your works will not. Do not mock the blood of Christ.

Please think about this....

His grace is free to you..today, while it is still today...if you will not harden your heart...enter in to His rest.

This verse shows us that even we would remain unfruitful you could still be saved:

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. - (Titus 3:14)

But if you should have works so that you are forgiven or saved:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- (Ephesians 2:8-9)

then you would go against that scripture right there above. Or show me why doesnt it apply.

Is salvation measured in your terms or God's terms? What if you can tell me is His time frame? By what calendar does He govern the earth and all therein?
Is His hand shortened?

We are not born again into perdition. We are born again into Life. Now, Jesus Christ is the Life. He is eternal. What clock does He use?
So, if He is eternal, and we are partakers with Him in His life, where do we have our life..now? In death? God forbid!

You are taking a slant upon the Scriptures to push an idea that is only founded in a handful of selected Scriptures.

You may live in sozo, but Christians are hid in Him. This tent we are making our sojourning in, will pass...either at death(ceasation of bodily function) or if He returns.

It is like this,
my baby was in the womb.... alive and my baby.... cared for and provided for... but still in the womb... alive. My baby does not have to wait until birth to be alive!
or,
you are given an inheritance...totally yours, but you have to grow up first..... but it is yours...you are the heir. You do not have to die to be saved. He saves us daily while we live and His eternal Salvation is what gives life.
Sure, we must endure all things until then.... sort of fight the good fight, run the race....
but only because you are already sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. If we were not saved, why would we be rejoicing? Yes, the end of the race is something to look forward to.... only because we have our salvation in Christ. We can only endure because He has saved us.

Have you had your sins set before you? Do you have a conscience? How, if you have not been saved already, can you live in your sin, knowing it is death. How could you function at all? You see, the Lord has released us from the fear of death, and the burden of guilt, having taken it upon Himself at the cross. Why, to be His body here on earth until He returns.... and, because He loves us.

Repentance is a good thing. It leads to mercy and life.
Eternal life.

We are bound somewhat in our bodies for now.... the redemption you talk about is the redemption from our bodies..... so, who again are we?

I smell hypocrisy. Would Jesus mock His own children the way you did? Who are you to to mock others if they do not see things your way? Are you holier than though?

Your post is something that deserves a visit to the Bible for some serious correction. Study before your preach, otherwise I can just tell you I feel sorry for you if you think you are saved by works. You got it all wrong.

Faith = acceptance and believing the free gift of Salvation in Jesus Christ
Repentance = a sincere change of mind and turning away from sin to truly walk with Christ and be like Christ.
Works = result of bearing good fruit and operating on the Holy Spirit, not the flesh. Nothing more, nothing less.

Everyone here has already posted abundant Scripture to back up the above. Do not come here ever again posting lies or anything that is against the Word of GOD.

Ironically, you just mocked GOD with your false prophet style preaching. Examine yourself before you speak the Word because your in great danger of your own life when you preach something against His Word and His will.

Semachiah, is not false. All he was trying to do, was to help us, by giving us some understanding of scripture and meaning of some Greek words.

I think what Semachiah means by works, he was referring to the fruits of holy spirit, one needs to bear the fruit (works) of holy spirit, otherwise our teaching/preaching is in vain.

Like each and every one of us, who participated in this thread or in other threads or when we are out in the wilderness/world, we need to bear the fruit of holy spirit by helping, guiding and edifying each other to the truth. Helping each other to stay focussed and to keep our eyes and minds on God and His Son, by walking away from this world and it’s sinful nature, of lies, deceit and corruption, so that we can bear the fruit of the holy spirit, so that in time we will become more and more like our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

A word can make a huge difference to someone who is receiving it, and we might see it as an attack from satan, but in fact could be a blessing. If we look closely at Semachiah’ first post and read the scriptures (Just read the scriptures he posted for now) over and over and several times more until you see it, and you will see Semachiah is referring to the fruits of the holy spirit.

Bearing fruit and becoming more Christ like is more important to me. Walking away from sin is more important to me, it’s a battle, but I have God, His son and the gift of holy spirit on my side. I will fail on some days, but if I go to Him with a broken heart, God will forgive me and help me to be an over-comer.

I know God's Love and the love of Christ and what he did for me on the cross, through the shedding of his blood and how he suffered and took all that pain for me, for my sins, your sins and the world’s sins. He loved our Father so much, he was obedient right up until the very end and Jesus Christ took all that pain just for you, for us, for me, for the world. That’s showing love to us, you and me.

Being part of the body of Christ, we need each other. Some have more love to give than others and know how to show that love towards others, and yet others don’t know how to love or show that love towards others, but God loves them just the same as He loves us. Being part of Jesus' Church, we should be here to help them and guide them, which can time and may take years. We need to be patient. God is patient with us, so we need to be patient with them, which can be very hard at times. Some of us has more knowledge than others, and out of love we share that knowledge with other believers, who might have been taught wrong teachings by man or they have given more faith and trust to a denomination rather than putting their whole faith and trust in God Almighty, through His son. By being part of the body of Christ, we share our love and knowledge with other believers We can plant the seeds, but God gives the increase.

Now going back to this Greek word sozo and you can check it for yourselves. Sōzō is a Greek word, which can mean to be "made whole" in English. We were born without spirit when we come into this world, and when we receive God’s gift of holy spirit, we are "made whole" (sozo), we now have three parts again instead of two. So every born again believer, who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour has now being "made whole", with “Body, Soul & Spirit”.

In the Greek English Interlinear, by “JP Green Snr” some of the scriptures read to “be kept safe”. (Literal Meaning)

The scriptures below, where it says “”shall be saved” refers to Sozo.

(Mat 10:22) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. – The words “shall be saved” here is sozo

(Mat 24:13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. – The words “shall be saved” here is sozo

(Mar 13:13) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. – The words “shall be saved” here is sozo

The above scripture is an interesting one, as it has two numbers against it, “1519” Greek word eis and “4991” Greek word Soterion, more study is need on this one.

(1Th 2:16) Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. – The words “might be saved” here is sozo

(2Th 2:10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. – The words “might be saved” here is sozo

I have pulled off some 20 scriptures, giving us some examples and bringing to mind the word and the meaning of the word sozo.

The Greek word for Salvation is “Soterion” and there are 43 Scriptures
(KJV) in the New Testament, giving us examples of this word.

Salvation in English = Means Deliverance, Rescue, Recover, Escape

Soterion in Greek = Means Deliver, Rescue, Salvation, Save, Saving

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

God says we will be destroyed through lack of knowledge and none of us want that, now do we.

I hear all you say, and before we judge anyone, we must be aware of the real posibility that we might mis-understand either their words, or their motive.

If I could be a bit picky, please... and I ask you because you have all these references handy, what is the difference between zozo and sozo?

Now, all those references are very uplifting promises in Scripture, as you know.

I understand that Semachiah is like all of us, in need of patience and love.

You will find, sister, that what I said to Semachiah is about what he said, and the way he presented it, was, a little overbearing and if I didn't know any better, he appeared as though he was a prophet of someone. Just because he needs patience and time, there are other members and visitors here who could take his threats as if they were from the Lord, so telling him to watch himself, is a caution, that we all will get if we overstep the mark in our presentation of our ideas.

Back to those Scriptures, WordOfLife. They all profess to the Salvation of God in Jesus Christ the Lord, and none of them support Semachiah's accusations of mocking The LORD by believing in the Salvation of the LORD. I understand what you are saying here, sister, and believe it or not I was very much aware of you and prayerful about every word I used in the reply to Semachiah.

Semachiah, I have prayed for you and I do care for you, and hope you can see that you have been blinded somewhat in regards to the Truth. My comments were to make you think, not crush you. I trust in My Saviour and Lord, and ask that you can understand that a good healthy look at what has been said to you will help you to see a greater and more majestic picture of God's grace in Jesus Christ the Lord. Remember that when you look at a gemstone, it may have different facets or faces, and each one looks different, though similar, and each one is neccessary to behold it in full. Speaking of faces.... The Scripture reads~ the face of the LORD, but the grammar used says ~ the faces of The LORD . I don't have any trouble with this, do you?

I have to agree with Word Of Life here, in that a Greek word study is very needed. Especially concerning Logos and rhema which have both been interpreted using the same English word= word.I have witnessed this error in many of the threads here at TJ. Salvation being another and so on. We are all at different levels concerning our spiritual knowledge and revelation and we should demonstrate patience toward those who are lacking concerning a specific topic. If a teacher was to condemn a student every time he or she gave a wrong answer then eventually the student would stop participating.

Tradition especially concerning interpretation of scripture can be just as harmful as it can be beneficial.

In as much as the Greek study is interesting, we are still saved by grace, even if we speak only Cimulin Qiang from mid-west China. The living Word is what we all need to read and to speak, both in writing and in living.

Thank you Br. Bear and yes that was a typing error on my part about "Zozo" and "Sozo" It should read Sozo, and I will go back to my post and correct that error.

Learning the Greek/Hebrew words and meanings is a good thing, and I would recommend it to all, as it helps us to understand the actual meaning of God's Holy Words and as to why there's so much division out there.

Br. Bear I am in agreement with you, and I do know I am saved by grace, but one needs to understand what the meaning of the word works means.

If I do something out of love for others, whether it being, taking someone to the shops, buying them a meal or helping an old lady across the road, do you class and see that as works? Because I don't see as works, I see it as God changing me to be a better and a more caring person towards others.

I was once a very selfish person and thought nothing on how I spoke or acted towards people, it's been a huge battle with me, but over time God has shown me that this is wrong, and I needed to be more caring, patient and careful how I spoke to people, and by being bold, honest, without hurting a person's feelings. God has changed me in that respect and He receives all the Glory, through Jesus. It's nothing I did, I am just listening to God and Jesus, as they teach me through God's Word, and through God's mighty power. I want to be more like Jesus and nothing less. My old self has to die, and be risen with Jesus, to a new person, living the Word, through His son.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I would like to understand how you see works and as to why you disagree.

yes, but what do you suggest one does when someone bursts into the classroom and threatens the stuudents with God's wrath, because they believe in what He promises and what He has done in their lives?

I have absoluetly no squabble with Word Of Life about Greek or Hebrew, or English, Latin, Aramaic, etc.

My sentiments exactly all we need is Jesus the Living Word, but most christians always bring the bible into it along with their traditional interpretation of it. Most don't even understand it themselves, they just quote someone else's understanding. Thus many are deceived with false doctrines like the clergy/laity system, the ritual keeping of feasts and sabbaths, tithing, OSAS, NOSAS, and many other mixtures of the old and new covenants not to mention all of the varying eschatologies.

Again, one plants, another waters.... but it is God that gives the increase.
Ye shall know them by their fruit.

So, a seed planted and watered, bearing fruit.... by God's wisdom and will, for His glory..... is a living tree. It is not a tree that might one day be living.... but is, as Jesus said, one with Him and the Father.

Even you, being evil, know how to be kind and good to those you love.... I say unto you.... love even your enemies (Paraphrased somewhat by me)

One problem that folks get stuck on is singling out a few verses or themes from the Word. This is true for study of Greek and Hebrew.

And to answer Jiggyfly here as well, we can get stuck on tradition of man in our interpretation, with limited working knowledge, with man's wisdom holding us back from the truth. Often study of these subjects leads to confusion, as the depth required to fully understand the complexity of the picture painted with the words and gramma used in the study, stifles the life out of the Word. This does not mean that we ought not study if it is in our scope and interest, but we must always remember and return to our first love.
It is the living Word engrafted with us,to us, in us, and vice-versa, being one, united in love by God in Jesus Christ our Lord, that gives life unto our faith.
There are basically two types of studiers.. people who study...
one, the student of theology, theosophy, language, theory, psychology, and the like, who study for information sake.
and then there is those who study because they have first received of Him who is Truth. They study, primarily to satisfiy their minds more about whom they love.... because they were first loved.... it is a result of something that happened in and to them, by grace, that they choose to look deeper.

You can be sure that not many Christians were into Greek study of the Scriptures before they became Christians.

Now, we are engafted into the living vine. For those who do not understand vines, they are perpetual bearers of fruit... year after year. While some plants like wheat, grow once, bear fruit and die (bringing forth seed), the vine is perrenial... ongoing, and will continue to bear fruit if tended to and conditions are met. The vine also is extremely hardy and although it can be cut to the ground, it will re-sprout, and continue to bear fruit. We have our Father God as the tender of the vine, so we are in His hands.

What you have so far witnessed in your new engrafted life is the beginnings of your fruit bearing. Because you live, you will continue to bear fruit. Do not marvel that you seem to bear fruit each year as if you are not already perfected in Christ the Saviour.... as if you are not yet one with Him. Every fruit you bear is of Him and from him, the living vine, because you are ALREADY engrafted in Him.

These are the works you talk of.

You do not bear fruit so that one day you might be engrafted. Such folly is the works of the flesh attempting to buy God's grace in Jesus Christ the Lord. By grace you are saved...alone. By grace you do the work of bearing the fruit fit for the Kindom of God in Jesus Christ the Lord, because His life NOW flows through you and IS your life.

Ye are sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. A promise for another time? A future promise to be kept? No. From before the foundation of the world, this promise has been in effect, and now you are partakers in it, by God's increase.
