(Proverbs 4:20-23)

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

(2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Even though people are most aware of the natural side of life, but actually life proceeds from the spiritual side. Notice, it says life proceeds from your heart(spiritual side) not the natural side. In Matthew 7:17,18 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. What he is saying is, what you see as fruit is dependent on something else. Fruit is never the source, it is only a result of something. And what fruit is dependent on is a root, which is unseen. So, what he is saying is that what you see is always the product of something you can't see. So understand, whatever the condition is it is not operating on it's own. There is something in the unseen/spiritual behind it. That's why your heart will determine the outcome and not your flesh. Notice, the scripture Proverbs 4 talks about words and your heart. Words(spiritual) and your heart(spiritual) has an effect on your body(physical). In Proverbs 18:14 it reads, The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, But who can bear a broken spirit? In Proverbs 17:22 it reads, A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. And how about Proverbs 15:30 it reads, The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy.

Everything of physical substance originates from the spiritual, Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Notice, what is seen did not come from what is seen, it's the product of the unseen. Jesus said in Matthew 15:18,19 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. Notice, what you see physically there is a spirit side behind it. And without that spiritual side you would not see the physical side. The physical can not exist without the spiritual. Hebrews 1:3 says, Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, the spiritual is upholding the physical. Notice, spiritual is upholding physical, which means the physical is dependent on it. So, the physical can not operate on it's own. So, whatever the issue, condition, situation is it is not operating on it's own. It must have a spiritual side or a spiritual basis( the underlying support or foundation).

You could say it like this everything physical springs forth from something spiritual. That's why 2 Cor. 4: 18 says, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. Notice, he says don't put your focus on what is seen, but what is not seen and that's because if it is seen then it is only fruit. Which means it is not operating on it's own, it has a root that it is dependent on. And if you cut it off at the root the fruit will cease. In Numbers 16 When the people came against Moses and Aaron a plaque broke out and the people started dyeing. And Moses told Aaron to hurry and make atonement for the people and when he did the plaque stopped. The people came against Moses and Aaron (remember, what a man does physically comes from his heart/spiritual). So, that was actually a spiritual act, and by that spiritual act something manifested physically. So, where did that plaque spring forth from, the spiritual(nothing originates in the physical). And when Aaron made an atonement for the people(which was a spiritual act) that plaque stopped. Notice, that plaque sprang from the spiritual and was cut off from the spiritual. It makes no difference how bad the condition is if you cut it off in the spiritual it will cease.

So, you have the ability to operate from your heart/spiritual to cut off something working in your body/physical. Actually, you have the advantage, because flesh can't operate in the spiritual, but you(spirit) can. Remember, there is an inner man(spirit) and an outer man(flesh). Your outer man resides in this physical realm, but you inner man/spirit resides in the spiritual. You reside in the realm where things spring forth from and are cut off. Your outer man needs your inner man to defend it (Pro 18:14). It's your heart that determines the outcome and not your flesh. That's why what they see in that x-ray is not your limit, what they see under that microscope is not your limit. Notice, in Proverbs 4 the importance of having the word in your heart. Look at Acts 14:7-10 7 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

Suppose those words didn't go in his heart, do you think he would have received that healing. I know the word entered his heart because Paul perceived that he had faith, faith comes from hearing the word. The word in his heart brought healing to his body. The word(spiritual) was healing to his flesh(physical). That's why Proverbs 4 talks about the word in your heart being health/medicine/healing to your flesh. Determinations are not made in this physical material realm, because this is only the manifestation. What did Jesus say, "According to your faith be it unto you," "As though hast believed so be it done unto you," "Thy faith has made thee whole." Faith deals with the spiritual, so the determinations where made in the spiritual. People have separated the spiritual and physical as if they are two separate realms, but even though they are 2 they are more like 1. Just like man they are 2 flesh man and spirit man and yet the 2 are 1. And flesh man can't do anything without spirit man.

God said it's like this just look at yourself, you and your reflection in a mirror or your shadow. They are not you, but a product of you and as such they are dependent on you. In other words, they can't do anything independent of you, but only according to you. For instance, how many times have you looked in a mirror and smiled and your reflection frowned, never, and you can be sure that it never will. Because, it can not do anything apart from you. In John 8:31,32 Jesus said, 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. And in John 17:17 Jesus tells us that God's word is truth. Understand, there's truth and there's facts and God put truth over facts. So, God has established that truth will win over facts. If something is happening in this physical material realm/fact it can not stand against the truth of the spirit realm/what God has established by his word- Numbers 21:7-9:
7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

Notice, people were getting bitten and dyeing, it was a fact if this thing bites you then you are dead. But, God established a truth in the spiritual, if you look at that serpent of brass you will live. And it came to pass anyone that was bitten when they looked at that serpent of brass they lived. Notice, once a truth was established in the spiritual the fact of the physical had to cease. So, if you are in an unwanted fact, get your heart fixed on the truth. Look at Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. The issue is what are you going to fill your heart with truth or facts. Truth based on God's word or facts based on the circumstances. That's the issue, because what's in your heart is the determining factor. It's easy to get focused on what's happening I know, because you can see it or feel it, but that's the trick of the devil to keep you operating out of your flesh instead of your heart/spirit. Because, when you operate out of your spirit now you are going to the root of the issue and not just dealing with fruit.

It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. Romans 5:8-10 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
