I live in Florida, so I thought this was pretty neat:
You know it's July in Florida when:
Hot water comes out of both taps.
You find out that a seatbelt buckle makes a pretty nice branding iron.
The trees are whistling for the dogs. You find out that you can get sunburned through your car window.
The birds need to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
You burn your hand opening the car door.
The temperature drops below 95 and you put on a sweater.
You can make instant sun tea.
Shade determines the best parking space, not distance.
Farmers feed their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard boiled eggs.
When you step outside at 7:30 a.m., you break into a sweat.
Potatoes cook underground. This is convenient because all you have to do is pull one out and add salt, pepper and butter.
You discover that asphalt has a liquid state.
You realize that it only takes two fingers to steer your car.
LOL, lived in st.Petersburg for a while and got a real bad sunburn on the beach, so yea!! I know what you mean,as a little side dish,I used to live in a place called Clarksville Indiana where the standing joke there is" what do you call a good looking guy or gal there??? LOL a visitor!! LOL not that the people there are ugly!! no!! just not as good looking as they good be. LOL Have a great day!
this would go for Mesa, Arizona too! lol! We visited my brother-n-law and his family several years ago and I was amazed! After shopping for a few hours we came out to the car and grabbed the door handle and it almost burnt us. My husband used his hankerchief to open the door. We took our boys to the zoo and we just about had heat strokes. The only spot that seemed bearable was the grand canyon. Arizona is beautiful! But around Mesa and Tempe it is schorching hot! :shade:
that is good, I don't live in Florida, or have I ever been there, but I live in deep south texas and can relate to everything that was mentioned.
Where I live we have fairly extreme temperatures. From the very, very hot to the very cold and icy and very occasional snow.
I've walked on melting asphalt, felt the burn of the seatbelt and the steering wheel, had the milk go off on the two blocks I had to walk home with it etc.
I imagine that Florida is quite a bit closer to the equator than southern Australia so you've probably got it even hotter than we have.

I'll agree to this! (right from the east edge of Mesa, AZ :shade: )
It is the start of May and we already have seen mid to upper 90's. We should be seeing triple digits this week. And we might cool down by the end of October.
July?? That just means the monsoons move in and not only do we have 112 degrees but we also have 50% or more humidity to add to it. Yuk!!
