So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:16-17 NLT
How does it change your perspective after reading that you are a new person in Jesus Christ? Perhaps you feel encouraged by being transformed. Then again, you may be wondering why holy living and obedience to the teachings of scripture are such a struggle.
What should God’s people do when the old life remains persistent and powerful? One place to begin may be your perspective. Are you seeing Jesus for less than He truly is? Or are you seeing Him as the risen Son of God who conquered death and offers God’s life to all?
Correcting your perspective won’t change everything overnight, but if you can see Jesus as He truly is and then accept the fantastic possibility that you belong to Him, you can take steps forward. You can move away from guilt, discouragement, and alienation.
You can rest assured that Jesus Christ will transform you through His union with you.
Prayer: Jesus, help me see Your divine power with clarity. May I accept Your gracious union with my life today.
