Why Pray?

‘Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.’ Matthew 21:22 NKJV

You say, ‘If God loves me and knows what I need, why should I have to ask Him for it?’ Because prayer means talking to God and listening to God, which leads to building a relationship with Him. Jesus said, ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things will be added to you.’ (Matthew 6:33 ESV) When your prayers are based on your relationship with God, your needs get met. When you love God and spend time with Him, His Word says: ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him. But it was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit.’ (1 Corinthians 2:9–10 NLT)

Did you get that? God has planned a level of blessing for you that your natural eye can’t see and your natural mind can’t comprehend. And when you pray, He reveals things to you by His Spirit. When that happens, your faith grows and you’re able to receive what God wants you to have. So develop a lifestyle of prayer—praying all the time, everywhere you go, in the midst of your daily routine.

‘Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.’ (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV) God cares about every detail of your life. So when you become anxious about something, talk to Him about it. And don’t forget to read His Word.

That way when a problem comes up you can say, ‘Father, You said in Your Word You would do this for me,’ then quote the promise and, believing, stand on it.

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.”*
10 But* it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

WOW like looking at this verse with fresh eyes...

But when one has no faith how can we ask?

After years of battling loneliness and losing I have learned that unbelief, doubt, worry and fear have no real strength! But when fed by loneliness they are a powerful destroyer of faith; a great giant..

Like the soldiers of Israel saw Goliath, I see loneliness and say man he/it is so big I can’t win.

Unlike David who saw Goliath and said Praise God he so big I can’t miss.

Just pray to God for a job that I fail to get. So I prayed and once again no! Don’t know when I was last answered yes.

So, so true sister, thank you for sharing this important message.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, but Faith grows and strengthens through prayer.

All things are possible through him who believes and is saved, born again from above.

A young Christian looks down when life around them shakes, faith has to grow, it has to mature, it has to increase. When a storm come in the life of a mature Christian, they do not look at the water, they keep their eyes on Jesus. Faith calms storms, Faith moves the mountains in our life.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13. Laying down your life often means fighting to the death to save someone else from perishing. Pray always and grow in your faith, but love requires that you be ready willing and able to die fighting to save a child from the throes of evil.

Blessings.
