Turn Your Loss Into Gain (1)

‘Jephthah, a brave soldier from Gilead, was the son of a prostitute.’ Judges 11:1 GNT

Jephthah was the illegitimate son of a man called Gilead. His mother was a prostitute. When he grew up, Gilead’s legitimate sons turned on him and chased him away. ‘“You will not get any of our father’s inheritance,” they said.’ (Judges 11:2 NLT) So he ended up living in a cave. While there, he took a band of misfits and rebels and developed them into a great army. When the Ammonites threatened Israel, the elders turned to him for help.

‘But Jephthah said to them: “Aren’t you the ones who hated me and drove me from my father’s house? Why do you come to me now when you’re in trouble?” “Because we need you,” the elders replied. “If you lead us in battle against the Ammonites, we will make you ruler over all the people of Gilead.”’ (Judges 11:7–8 NLT) Not only did Jephthah lead them to victory, he’s named with honour in the Bible along with people like Abraham, Moses, and David. His life is rich with lessons.

Here’s an important one: rejection can be part of God’s plan for your life. Jephthah was rejected for reasons beyond his control—he was illegitimate. But instead of growing bitter, he moved on and did something good with his life. Perhaps you’ve been rejected because you were old, young, intelligent, dumb, pretty, ugly, privileged, poor, attractive, unattractive, male, female, white, black, etc. By God’s grace Jephthah took an ugly situation and turned it into a beautiful one. And if you’ll turn your situation over to God today, the same grace is available to you.

I remembered again:

I asked the Lord why I have been suffering so much--even my own imagination turned against me, and my memory also, even my own judgement;

The answer I received in my spirit was 'Unbelief.' The next answer that I received in my spirit was 'Trust.'

Then it became clear, why it was that I have been unable to accept the Lord and God till now--the reason was because I didn't trust Him.

Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life'
His disciples asked, "What is the way?" He said, "No one comes to the Father but through Me" (John 14:6)

What is belief in the first place?
To believe is to trust; all that Jesus asked us to do is repent, and to trust in Him

What does the bible say about God?

God is Spirit
God is Love

What does Jesus say about God?
He says 'My God and Your God; My Father and Your Father

In order to love someone, you must also trust them--one cannot trust one whom they do not love, and in order to trust them, you must also love them.

Faith is Love and Trust (belief)

What does the bible say about love?

Luke 10:27 - And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” -Proverbs 3:5-6.

Trust in Him, believe in Him, and love Him
