Happiness keys (2)
'..."Blessed...are those who hear the word...and obey."' Luke 11:28
Loads of your mates may say success is measured by who has the latest PS3, Wii, iPod, clothes... the list goes on - but Jesus disagrees: He said, '"[Real]...life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses"' (Luke 12:15 NKJV) but by how you live. So how do you make sure you live well?
1) Challenge yourself. Examine how you spend your time. After a stressy day at school, it's easy to just switch off and veg out in front of the TV. Why not take time to read God's Word and pray, even when you don't feel like it.
2) Reach out to others. The smallest good deed in action is worth way more than the hugest good idea, so - help others. The enemy doesn't like you walking what you talk, but God loves it! He always gives you a chance to put into practice what He's taught you. Jesus said, 'Blessed...are those who hear the word...and obey.'
3) Be more patient. There was a guy who got the ferry to work, and was always on time. One day he overslept and worried he'd be late. So he sprinted to the dock, saw the ferry two metres from the edge and did a huge leap to land on the deck. Great! ...only, seconds later the ferry actually docked; what a prat he looked! Don't always be in a hurry. The Bible says: 'Patience...can...overcome any problem' (Proverbs 25:15 CEV).
