The mystery man
'And we... are bring transformed into His likeness...' 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18
Ever thought about what kind of guy Jesus was? We have our 'flowing dress and golden hair' view of course but what do you think He was actually like? We know He wasn't very tall (men weren't at that time) and wasn't very fit (Bible says people didn't like him for his looks), but something about Him meant that He could say to people 'follow me' and they dropped everything and did!
Jesus was no wuss. He was scared of no one and had a sack full of killer putdowns for the bunch of guys were always trying to find a reason to kill Him. He always had loads of mates so He was probably quite a laugh yet He loved everyone, so must have had a really weird gentle side too.
He didn't care what anyone thought of Him, only what God thought and never did anything just for the sake of popularity. When we look at Jesus we can see what God is like because He was God's Son. But more importantly we can see what we can be like, because He was also Mary's Son and very human. It's scary to think we could be like Jesus, most of us couldn't feel farther from it yet every time we're challenged by God He is changing us to be more like Jesus. Up for the challenge?
