'ADULLAM...WHERE...ALL WHO WERE DOWN ON THEIR LUCK CAME.' 1 SAMUEL 22:1-2
Have you ever had one of those days? Nothing's going right, you woke up with crazy hair and a huge zit on your chin, you've just been dumped, you're skint and you've get shed-loads of dull, dull, dull homework to do, when you were supposed to be going out. You've just had enough. You're fed up. You feel like life is pointless.
It's times like that, when everything's pants, that it would be really easy just to run away, wallow in a big soggy bog of self pity, put on your most depressing CD and sit in the dark until it's all over. But there's something else you could do instead.
God is there watching everything you're going through, just waiting to help you through it. Shelter in God and do what David did, make that cave a place of getting to know God better. If you're stuck for words, then why not start like David did? 'Be good to me, God; and now! I've run to you for dear life. I'm hiding out under Your wings until the hurricane blows over.
He sends orders from heaven and saves me, he humiliates those who kick me around' (Psalm 57:1-3 TM). Are you feeling down on your luck today? Do you see yourself as damaged goods? Instead of wandering alone in the wilderness, come in and find what you need in God's presence.
