Showing love
'SHE HAS SHOWN ME MUCH LOVE.' LUKE 7:47
Jesus was never shocked. In fact, people found Him shocking; even scandalous. Luke writes, 'One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went to his home...a certain immoral woman...heard he was...there [and]...brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt...at his feet, weeping... kissing his feet and putting perfume on them' (Luke 7:36-38 NLT).
Some people, who have been hurt by religion can't stand being in the same room as religious people. Some people are so religious they don't know how to relate to people still lost in their sins. Jesus was neither. He accepted the invitation to eat with the religious guy, the Pharisee. At the same time though He gave grace to the sinner. Can you do the same? Jesus said, 'Her sins; and they are many; have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.' Clock these 3 points:
1) Keeping in mind what Jesus saved you from will keep you passionate in your love and your giving
2) Other people may know what you've done but Jesus knows what you can become
3) Don't be afraid of showing your emotions. That's not just a personality thing, we all know some people are more emotional than others. No, this is about not letting anything stop you showing Jesus know how much you love Him. Show Him today.
