'...shine like stars in the universe' Philippians 2:15
Have you ever had a really bad day? All you want to do is have a go at everyone, to make them feel as bad as you do? Here, Paul says 'DON'T!'. Don't try to drag others down just because you're feeling manky. Instead, build them up. Even though it's really hard, try and be positive. Remember, no matter how bad your day is, you've got a message of life; eternal life. That message isn't just for you, you know; it's for everyone. And it's your job to help share that message, to make sure that everyone gets a chance to hear it and choose how they're going to respond to it.
You can't get away with thinking that it's your mates' job, or expecting your youth leader to tell everyone. Not even your vicar will do it for you. It's your job. Yours. And what's one of the best ways to do that, to show others what God can do for them? By standing out from the crowd. Not for being grumpy, but for being positive. By shining like a star, being the light in the darkness.
The message of God is a message of hope. Today, why don't you try and be positive to those around you, and share with them the best news in the world! No-one else can make you shine; only you can do it, with God helping you.
