Roots of rejection

'Rooted deep...and founded securely on [God's] love.' EPHESIANS 3:17

Many things can make us feel rejected, even when we're not really! It may be a friend that's gone off with someone else, a relationship that's just ended or even a parent that you've convinced yourself doesn't want you. The truth is that it's unlikely that any of these are actually down to someone rejecting you. It may be that in the long run God is actually saving and protecting you from a bad relationship or if it's your parent, there's guaranteed to be a whole load of stuff going on; none of which is that they just don't want you!

If your roots are securely in God, the rejections we face all around us can't affect us in the same way. If you know you're 100% loved, welcomed, wanted and cared for by the Almighty Creator of the Universe, does it really matter that you didn't get picked for the footie team? As humans we love self-pity. It's almost fun and comforting to wallow and feel sorry for ourselves. We want others to wallow with us, say nice things and get drawn into a slanging match about people we don't like. This is bad! This is a time to dig your roots in deep, look over your own pain to the truth of the situation and what God thinks about it, and you. Don't get caught up in self-pity!

Great stuff I have been known to have a pity party or two and all it did was make the matters worse, yes we need to look to the Lord in all things

if i'm real deep rooted then there is no way i'll

JESUS alone is enough for me to feel complete...
