Questions, Questions!
'... don't worry about ... what to say ...' Matthew 10:19
When people know you are a Christian, they can bombard you with their thoughts and opinions. They lob really tough questions and crazy theories at you that totally wreck your head! Usually this brings about a one in four reaction: you give up (you sack off being a Christian altogether because you don't want the agro); you shut up (you keep your head down and your faith to yourself); you punch up (answering everyone in 'attack mode', verbally lashing out) or you break up (fall apart under the pressure and end up feeling guilty for not knowing how to answer them).
Jesus had questions thrown at Him all the time. The people asking the questions didn't really want an answer; they wanted to trick Him, trap Him, and make Him a laughing stock.
He knew the same thing would happen to His disciples and gave them some advice: '... don't worry about ... what to say'. Jesus never worried about how to answer his interrogators; He doesn't want you to worry either! Jesus didn't answer every question put to Him; sometimes He answered their question with a question to them, or with a story and left people wondering what on earth it meant. Don't worry about people's questions or theories Instead spend more time getting to know Jesus better so you never give up, shut up, punch up, or break up!
