Prayer doesn't work!

Don't ever tell John Teixeria that prayer doesn't work. Tex spent his life as a fisherman. One night whilst out at sea, the boat started sinking! He ordered his crew to abandon ship, in shark-infested waters. All eight men knew they were in serious trouble. By morning two men had been lost. With no food or water, planes overhead unable to spot them, all hope was gone. Tex called a prayer meeting. No-one objected. They huddled together and cried out to God to help. Moments later there was an incredible whoosh that seemed to pull the ocean out from under them. At the same moment, a monster emerged from the depths; it was a huge nuclear submarine. They'd been rescued!
Later, the six survivors listened awestruck as the captain explained. 'I'm not allowed to surface here, I expect I'll get a disciplinary for this as it's against my orders, but something beyond my control told me to go to the surface. I can't explain it. Something just told me to bring the Sub up, right there and then, so I did... and there you were.'
God does answer our prayers; He promises. If you feel He never answers your prayers, ask yourself, 'Am I just praying selfish prayers? Am I asking for what I need or what I want? Am I praying for others or is it all about me?' God won't reward our selfishness! Pray right!
