Love yourself
'Love others as well as you love yourself.' MATTHEW 22:39
Do you ever look around at everyone, and think they're so much better than you? Your mates have the looks of the cast of High School Musical, the charisma of Ant and Dec and the wit of Peter Kaye; whereas you feel like you have the looks of Shrek and the personality of a broom handle?
Don't be so down on yourself! Not only are you being unfair to yourself, but with an attitude like that, you can't love others as God wants you to. You're the one person you can never get away from, so unless you learn to love and accept yourself, you'll probably end up miserable; which no-one wants.
The devil loves any opportunities to 'prowl[] around...looking for someone to devour' (1 Peter 5:8 NIV), so don't give him that pleasure by sitting around moping. Stamp on his head and tell him to get lost, and start to think positively about yourself!
Read about what God has to say about you (Isaiah 43:4 is a good place to start). When you can see good stuff in you, that's evidence that God is at work in you. Yes, the Bible cautions us about having an over inflated opinion of ourselves - but don't go to the other extreme! Check out 2 Corinthians 4:7. Recognise God's treasure in you, and the potential you have, and run with it. Go on; love yourself!
