'His Spirit in your inner being.' EPHESIANS 3:16
You've seen the Ads on TV, 'Because you're worth it', 'The Lynx effect', and all that. These kinds of companies spend billions trying to get us to decorate a shell that's in a losing battle with Mother Nature and Father Time, and we can fall for it too. In our rush to create what we think will attract others, we spray, we squirt, we dye, we gel, we wax and maybe succeed in turning a head or two, but it has zero ability to win a heart or mind. No amount of diets or press-ups will help, and neither will being seen in the right place with the right people.
If you want to earn people's trust, respect, and real friendship you'll have to start sorting out the inside not the outside. That's not an excuse to totally let go! It's important to look after the body God gave you, but when you become obsessed with your 'looks' alone, you become shallow and superficial. Others will quickly lose interest because they discover that although the box you came in is beautifully wrapped it's empty!
The only real appeal we have is 'His Spirit in your inner being'; illumination on the inside, buzzing in your body, fizzing in your physique. That's what ultimately wins hearts and attracts the right people to you, for the right purpose, at the right time.
