Look for the honey!
'In it was a swarm of bees and some honey, which he scooped out...' Judges 14:8-9
There's a story in the Bible that talks about Samson. You remember Samson right, the guy with superhuman strength and no hairdresser? One day Samson is really peckish, he spots some bees making some honey and just sticks his hand in and grabs some (the hive was in a dead lion but I don't think he was that bothered about health and hygiene regulations!). Fresh, golden, delicious!
How often do we miss out on something sweet because we're scared of getting stung? Maybe someone is scared to go out with someone they fancy in case they get hurt. Or someone else doesn't take up the opportunity of a role in the school production in case they fail or look stupid. Most times in life we have to get past the bees to get the honey. If your life feels boring don't blame God. Neither bees nor honey are boring! God has dreamt up some great opportunities for you but they don't come gift-wrapped (remember the lion!).
In fact a lot of they time they look impossible; but that's the idea. Think about David standing in front of Goliath or Peter stepping out of the boat to walk towards Jesus riding the waves without a surf board. These guys became giant-killers and water-walkers but they had to get past it being scary or even looking impossible. They had to get past the bees and so do you!
