LIAR! LIAR! (4)
'Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.' JOHN 8:32
Julie hadn't been in touch with her parents for a long time, so she wrote them a letter: 'Dear Mum & Dad it's me! Just letting you know how I'm doing. I've fallen in love with a guy called Blaze. He's a great guy, but he quit Uni a few years ago to get married. That didn't work out, so he got a divorce last year.
We've been going out a few weeks now and we're thinking about getting married in November. I decided to move in with Blaze last Friday and have dropped out of Uni. I really needed to get a job to support me and Blaze but will probably go back to Uni after the baby is born. Oh yes, I'm pregnant! OK, don't panic, everything I've written in this letter so far is a lie. None of it's true. But what is true is that I didn't do very well in my 1st year exams and I really need some money. Could you please send me some? Thanks. Love Julie'. Julie was trying to make bad news seem like good news by bringing it from another perspective!
When we stray from the truth, we can't make good decisions, or know the difference between right and wrong. The good seems bad and the bad seems good. Our view of reality is always a matter of perspective, and the only viewpoint worth trusting is God's. Stay close to Him.
