Do you know what the most deadly weapon in the world is? More deadly than any nuclear weapon of mass destruction! It's your tongue! The tongue is always right there at the start, the root source of every war that's started, every evil deed that's done, every weapon that's built, every scheming that's plotted to bring about death and destruction.
The Bible says, 'The tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do....It is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life... It is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison.' (James 3:5-8)
Who would have believed, that little pink muscle we're also encouraged to scrub clean along with our teeth each day (with specially made toothbrushes built to scrape the fuzz off), could be so dangerous?
We have to be dead careful how we use it. If not, it will stop you living in Gods truth, 'truth that will set you free.' You wouldn't choose to live as a prisoner would you? Locked up for your whole life? NO!
So how do we tame our tongue and live in Gods' truth?
1) Trust God's Words more than your own
2) Remember God's way is the best way
3) Understand that we need God's help to 'tame our tongue' - never go it alone!
4) Think ahead. Get it right now - makes it easier in the future
5) Help others live the same way.
