Let it go (4) - Shoulda, woulda, coulda
'I will make up to you for the years that the...locust has eaten' JOEL 2:25
Part four: you have to let go of what you failed to do; whether it was not talking to the new geeky kid at school 'cos you didn't want your mates to laugh, or not telling people about God 'cos you're scared of what they'll say; for whatever reason, we don't always do what we know is right.
Today's verse isn't really about bugs eating stuff, it's more about God saying that even though there's stuff you haven't done, that He would have liked you to do, He can make up for it. God gives you a second chance; He can put you where you would have been if you'd not missed out in the first place.
So instead of living your life thinking 'coulda, woulda, shoulda done that' and 'if only', leave behind the things you didn't do, don't beat yourself up about it, and have faith that God will give you a second chance.
Remember; say sorry, and it's shredded, forgotten. Focus instead on not missing out on the future opportunities, but grabbing them with both hands. You may feel like you're completely going to miss out on something, some dream, because you didn't do what you should have done. So be outrageous; ask God for a new dream for the future, forgetting what's past, and reaching for the exciting future you know He's got planned for you!
