Just plant the seed!
'THE GOSPEL...IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION.' ROMANS 1:16
A man was standing at King's Cross in Sydney, Australia when a shabby looking character tapped him and said 'If you died tonight, where would you be spending eternity?' This question haunted the man and he eventually gave his life to Jesus. Years later he heard a lady in his church tell almost the same story about herself. He returned to the place and found the old man. He explained how it had impacted him and the lady in his church. The shabby man explained that he used to be a drunk before Jesus saved him. He wasn't educated or gifted so all he could think to do was to ask that question. He'd done it for eight years and it was the first time he realised it ever made a difference.
Some people hear the gospel and come to Christ straight away but for most of us it's a much longer, and messier route. Our job is not to change people, it's to share what we know, to challenge people, and let God do the changing. It's not your responsibility to save your friends, but it is your responsibility to share Jesus with them and let them make their own choice.
Thousands of testimonies start with 'there was this Christian kid at school'. It's often years later that they accept Jesus, but the seed was planted there. Don't be afraid, plant the seed!
