Growing in grace (2)
'Let us not judge.' ROMANS 14:13
A word that never fits very well with grace is control. People that control are often caught in being too religious and are not very up on the 'grace thang' coz they think they know it all!! Ring any bells with you? How much happier would you be if you didn't try to control stuff, people, situations and all that? A guy called Dennis Leonard wrote 'Give your loved ones the dignity of making their own mistakes and learning from them. If you're always getting into someone else's business, you're not only going to burn out, you're hindering God from working in their lives...They belong to Him not you!'
In the Bible there were proper arguments about what you could and couldn't eat and Paul had loads to say about it, "Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don't. And those who don't eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. (Romans 14: 3 NLT).
You may not feel its right to do something but you can't push what you feel on other people, just coz you feel that way! Is what you want to say gonna be helpful or just get their back up? The Bible says 'let's agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other. Help others with encouraging words' (Romans 14:19 TM). That's top advice; try it out!
