Great expectations
'This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down.' 1 samuel 17:46
'Its not the size of the Dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the Dog'. When David knocked out Goliath he didn't have a special laser gun, but he had the winners attitude! It says in the Bible he 'ran quickly toward the battle line to meet Goliath' (1 Samuel 17:48 NIV). King Saul was hiding but David was having none of it and ran to meet the challenge! David had amazing faith, not in himself but in 'him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask, dream or imagine, according to his power that is at work in us' (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).
A boffin called Martin Seligman, a professor, did some research on a sales company and found that staff with a positive sales attitude sold twice as much as those who didn't; they run to meet the challenge!! Boffins have also found that if you're self-confident then you'll generally achieve more stuff than if you're intelligent. You see the only thing that stops us achieving great stuff is our lack of belief in ourselves!! The more we believe in ourselves the more we get done. If you keep believing you may even end up doing what you first thought was impossible!! 'With God all things are possible' (Matthew 19:26). Remember, great results start with great expectations!!
