God-given greats (3)
'... All peoples on earth will be blessed through you ...' Genesis 28:14
Question - why do you reckon the typewriter (ask your mum if you don't know) was invented? Was it to help:
a) a businessman write reports;
b) a doctor write patient's prescriptions;
c) a vicar write his sermons; or
d) a receptionist take notes?
Answer - c. Seriously! It was invented by a concerned church-goer (who was also an engineer) called Christopher Latham Scholes, who was worried that his pastor didn't have enough time to write out his sermons with all the other stuff he had to do during the week. His friend challenged him to invent a machine to help - so he did. After a few months, he came up with a machine that could write; and just look at how many people across the world have been blessed by that invention.
The keyboard on your computer is a development of that typewriter. Imagine how much longer it would take you if you had to write all your essays for school by hand, or every time you wanted to send an email, you had to handwrite what you wanted to say, then scan it and copy it and send it - what a faff!
What starts out as a small idea in your head to help a friend, could end up changing the world. So get going with the ideas God's given you, and maybe one day you'll find it's true that 'all peoples on earth shall be blessed by you'.
