Getting things done
'IF ANY OF YOU LACKS WISDOM...ASK GOD.' JAMES 1:5
If life is looking all a bit too scary and overwhelming at the moment, ask God to help you, then apply these five principles:
1) Focus on the task. There are some very talented and skilled people who are useless because they can't concentrate on one thing for more than five minutes. If you're trying to achieve something, focus on what you're doing. Don't let every little thing that comes along make you look the wrong way.
2) Prioritise it by importance. If we don't work out what's most important, we end up chasing our tails and dealing with whatever's the most urgent. By planning out what needs to be done by when you can make sure everything is done with time to spare. If you don't you'll always be behind, stressed out and unable to fit in the things you want to do, like see your mates!
3) Draw the line. Look at the calendar, give yourself a deadline and stick with it! The biggest lie we tell ourselves is, 'I'll do it later.'
4) Break it into bite-size chunks. If you split a big job into a bunch of smaller ones it's much easier.
5) Don't go it alone. Chances are, there's lots of things you'll need to do that people around you also need to do, so team up! Teamwork will act like glue bringing all the rest together.
