The devil? He only exists in the minds of mullet-wearing metal-heads or crops up on the shoulders of cartoon figures complete with comedy pitch-fork, doesn't he?! It's time our mind gave the devil a complete make-over.
Maybe it's easier to think in terms of 'temptation'; we've all been there, right? Those little moral dilemmas: 'I could download that track and pay the record company their 79p ...' or is it 'I could click on this illegal site and it's mine for nothing'? When it comes to temptation, nobody is so super-spiritual that they're immune. 1 Corinthians 10:12 (TM) says, 'Don't be so naive and self- confident. You're not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else.
Forget about self-confidence, it's useless. Cultivate God-confidence'. Face facts, that thing you're a sucker for, wants to make a sucker out of you. The good news is, you can ask God for help. The Bible says '... God will never let you down; He'll never let you be pushed beyond your limit. He'll always be there to help you come through it' (1 Corinthians 10:13 TM).
