'ACT WITH COURAGE.' 2 CHRONICLES 19:11
You only find out if you've got courage when you start doing stuff that feels a bit scary:
1) Courage usually involves getting it wrong before you get it right. It's easy to be brave where you're strong; it's more difficult where you're weak! An army General once remarked, 'Bravery is the capacity to perform properly, even when scared half to death.' We see that in the prayer of Jesus the night before his crucifixion, he faced all the horror of the cross, freaked at the prospect, then said, 'Come on then!'
2) Courage always takes the 'high road'. Jesus said, 'If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also' (Matthew 5:39 NIV). Dr James B Mooneyham writes, 'When we keep score of wrongs committed against us, we reveal a lack of maturity.' Those who don't forgive are people who haven't learned this truth, and they tend not to be courageous people.
If you want to improve this area of your life, here are some advice: First, think good thoughts of that person. It's difficult to have bad feelings for someone who you can see good in.
Finally, let people know through your actions that you can forgive and forget. This will win their respect for you. Remember this: 'taking revenge makes you even with your enemy; forgiving him sets you above.'
