Church needs you!
'The...many parts...form one body' 1 Corinthians 12:12
Have you ever tried painting with your eyes closed, swimming without your legs, or having a conversation without opening your mouth? They're all possible, but really difficult! It's much easier to use your eyes, legs and mouth. But what does that have to do with 'church'? Well, there may be people in your church that you struggle with, that you never speak to - maybe even avoid.
Sometimes, you may think it's better if you don't even go to church, 'cos everyone's so different to you'. This passage is saying that's not the way to go about it at all. Just like you work better, when your body is working together, and you don't isolate one bit, 'church' is the same. The Bible talks about us as all being different parts of the same body - and all the parts are important, and help things to be done better.
So rather than trying to go it alone, you'll find life easier if you've got the other bits of the body to help you through it. You'll be helping others too - 'cos if you're not there, that means there's a bit missing for other people! Just as much as you need them, they need you - so don't be disheartened, but encouraged by church, and embrace all the differences that people have. God made us all that way for a reason, so that together we can do stuff well.
