Christmas Day
'Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.' LUKE 2:11
Imagine today is your birthday, a very special significant birthday, like your 18th, and you wake up SO excited! You've been waiting for this day for what seems like forever and now at last it's here. You can hardly believe it! You have a smile on your face that stretches as wide as is possible.
Today just feels like the best day ever and you can't wait to get up and celebrate. You have big plans, big hopes for this day. You race down stairs to receive great cards and presents from your family, before going out to receive even more from your friends. You're even looking forward to terrible renditions of Happy Birthday!
But instead, the smile on your face begins to fade, as all your hopes for the day start to disappear. You see no-one is interested in you today, there's no cards, presents, singing; not even a text message...it's as if you don't exist! You want to scream at the top of your voice 'Hey it's me, it's my birthday, this day is special, celebrate with me!' But you know there's no point. No-one cares, no-one's listening, they're all doing their own thing! What a nightmare that would be! Today is a special day! It's the day set aside to remember that Jesus was born. He is your Saviour ...don't treat Him today like He doesn't exist.
