Antman
'Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!' Proverbs 6:6
Lots of peoplel have dreams about being a superhero like Batman or Spiderman or maybe even the Incredible Hulk! But what about Antman (or Antwoman!)? How does that sound? Yes, Ants, those pesky little things that make us feel seriously grossed out if we find one nibbling on our jam tart in the kitchen! We instinctively want to squash them if we see them; we don't much care for them being around do we? But God says learn from them.
He is thinking about the superhero Antman! Now before you get carried away designing your superhero outfit, listen to what God wants you to learn (proverbs 6:6-8).
1) The ant works hard: No-one has to tell the ant what to do. They have no Boss telling them, but they see the need and get on with their job.
2) The ant prepares for the future: They don't just live for today, but make plans for the year ahead.
3) The ant is focused: The ant knows what it should do, it has purpose. God wants you to live the same:
a) to work hard, not because some teacher or boss or parent is breathing down your neck, but because you want to
b) to plan for the future, not just living in the moment, but thinking about where you're going
c) to be focused, determined to live your life being all God intended you to be.
