Alien invasion
'...they were waiting for a better country - a heavenly country...' Hebrews 11:16
Have you ever wondered 'Is there anybody out there? Do aliens exist?' Well you're not on your own. Even the media captures our imaginations with films and TV programmes about alien life and space.
Scientists experiment to 'boldly go where no man has gone before'! Did you know that the Bible talks about aliens? And get this; the aliens are us! Now before you go running to the mirror to check you've not just turned green and grown an extra head, check out what alien actually means: a foreigner, a stranger.
Today find time to read Hebrews 11. You'll hear about great men and women of faith like Noah, Abraham, Joseph, and Rahab: - because of their faith in God they did incredible things; 'they raised people from the dead, they were powerful in battle and defeated armies' - because of their faith in God they suffered, 'some where laughed at and beaten...thrown into prison...cut in half...they were poor, abused.
They all had one thing in common; 'living by faith when they died... admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth...the world was not good enough for them.' They knew, 'God planned to give them something better.' Each one of them was, 'waiting for a better country; a heavenly country.'
What about you? Do you know that God has got something better for you? Well He does!
