A fear-free life
'That by his death he might...free those who...were held in slavery by their fear of death.' HEBREWS 2:14:15
If you live life by your own set of rules you'd better be ready for the consequences. The what? Consequences. It's a word you won't hear very much on T4. What it means is that if you choose to act in a certain way then certain things are gonna happen as a result.
If you go out and get drunk then you'll wake up in the morning with a banging head; or worse! The thing about being young is that many of the choices you make now don't seem to have any consequences; you're invincible! WRONG. You're just storing up all kinds of problems that will catch you up in years to come.
Living the Jesus way ensures that you are storing up only blessings, not consequences, for the future. The original and ultimate consequence is death. This has been the case ever since the first humans chose to turn their backs on God and live life their way instead. Because of this loads of people live in fear that death is the end and there is no way to escape it.
The Bible breaks this fear when it describes what Jesus achieved for us on the cross: 'Only by dying could he break ...the power of death...[and] set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying' (Hebrews 2:14-15 NLT). So live the Jesus way today; live fear free.
