Treading and trusting

'Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you.' JOSHUA 1:3

If The Bible bangs on about anything, its pretty much that God never lets us down when we need him. That doesn't mean he expects us to be divas doing nothing for ourselves. Quite the opposite, He wants us to pull our weight, step by step, walking by faith. It can take a lot of bottle at times, to keep on trudging and keep on trusting, especially when we just don't get where God's at with things.

Job wasn't getting where God was at until 41 chapters into his own book. He'd been through the grind, majorstyle. Bankrupt, bereaved, and battered, Job treads through his darkest days believing, 'When I'm tried, I shall come forth as gold' (Job 23:10),meaning that he was hanging onto his faith until it shined like top bling. Notice:

a) it takes fire to produce gold.

b) only the refiner knows the degree of heat and amount of time required

c) to rush the process is to produce something of lesser value. Yes, Job had his darker moments, when he questioned God's fairness, or even doubted if there was a God or anything out there, but if we're to take anything out of this poor man's mess, it's that even in the worst of life, it's worth trusting and trudging until the end. Job did, and his life was put back together through faith.
