LBA?
'Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see' HEBREWS 11:1
Did you see this years' blockbuster movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? If you're a fan you will have no doubt seen one of the earlier films, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In this film Indy sets out to find the treasure with the help of his father. Along the path Indy reaches what looks to be a massive canyon, a sheer drop, making it impossible to get to the other side. Indy trusts his father's words, figures out the clues, takes a leap of faith and finds his feet are safely on solid rock. Indy doesn't fall to his death! There was a bridge there all the time, he just couldn't see it. Only when he steps out does he find it. If Indy had only believed in what he could see at that moment he would never have reached the treasure. It took faith. He needed to trust his father's words and walk on the bridge, even though he couldn't see it. Very scary!
We need to have faith in God. Faith is spelt: LBA; Listening to what God says, Believing it's true and finally Acting on it. Faith is living our lives by what we believe to be true about God; even if it doesn't seem to make sense. Its about believing God is right and trusting him to do what He says, and guess what? He is and He will!
