Truly Believe
'...It's impossible to please God apart from faith...' Hebrews 11:6
Narcissism means the worship of our own intellect. When someone says 'If I can't understand it, I don't believe it' it means their belief in God takes second place to their belief in themselves! To truly believe in God we must live by faith.
Faith is described not as a pill you take but a muscle you use. It's something you do, a way of life. The Bible says; '...It's impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that He exists and that He cares enough to respond to those who seek Him' (TM).
If you want to know God you have to put your faith in Him. God wants you to trust His Word, His character, and His track record of faithfulness. It is impossible to please Him if you don't.
Here's a bunch of cheesy-but-true acronyms to give you a little more insight to what it means to live by faith:
Fantastic Adventure In Trusting Him;
Fear Ain't In This House; Fear And Insecurity? Trust Him;
For All Is Through Him;
For Answers I Trust Him;
Forsaking All I Trust Him.
Living by faith not only pleases God but brings excitement into our lives, takes away our fears and gives us a guaranteed hope that when we do what we can, God will do what we can't.
